The Sue Sharples Memorial Trophy

This trophy was named in memory of the Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC Secretary and co-founder, who tragically died suddenly on 19th April 1994 at the young age of 32.

Sue had worked at White Hart Lane in the Members Office, organising the Junior Spurs supporters club and played for Broxbourne Ladies, being instrumental in them becoming Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC in 1991.

Serving as Assistant League Secretary for the Greater London League, Sue played regularly for the Spurs Ladies reserve side and it was fitting that the League decided to rename the cup competition for lower league sides in memory of her service to the League and the women's game in general.

Clubs throughout the League flooded the club with donations to buy a trophy (pictured right) to bear her name and it was perhaps fitting that her beloved Tottenham Hotspur Reserves won the first competition contested under her name in 1995, beating Mill Hill 2-0.
