Clive Allen |
Legendary goal-scorer who
played at West Ham at the tail-end of his career (1992-94), Clive scored
heavily when at White Hart Lane between 1984 and 1988, returning as a
coach in 2004 with the development squad, making it to first team coach
for a number of years before he was sacked as part of the Harry Redknapp
backroom staff in 2011. |

Came through the Chadwell
Heath youth system at West Ham, making the first team and becoming the
youngest FA Cup finalist at the time in 1980. Joined Spurs to play
a major part in the team's success in winning the 1991 FA Cup. A
hard working midfielder, who made the midfield tick. |

having his career ended in a bizarre knife fight with his sister's
boyfriend. |
Terry Dixon |
Young Irishman from North
London, who Spurs picked up and he looked likely to have a good career
being tagged as "the new Wayne Rooney" because of his build and his
knack of scoring explosive goals. However, two dislocated knee
injuries halted his career and he was released by Tottenham in 2008.
Following rehabilitation training, he was taken on by West Ham, signing
a three year contract, but after playing eight reserve games, his
contract was mutually terminated in the spring of 2010. Dixon dropped
down the leagues and settled with Dover Athletic playing non-league
football. |
Jermain Defoe |
Made his professional debut
for West Ham, after signing from Charlton as a youngster, and went on to
make 105 appearances (93 in the League) and scored 41 goals (29 League)
for the Hammers between July 1999 and February 2004, when he was signed
by Tottenham for £7 million. |
John Dowers |
Played once as a 16 year old
in a war-time match for Tottenham before going on to Luton. Left
in 1943 to join West Ham and made some reserve appearances before
emigrating to America. |

1984, where he featured prominently in the penalty shot out at White

An amateur with Villa from
September 1932 until May 1933, when he was offered a contract with
Tottenham, signing professional in June 1934. Ernie played 28
first team league games and three in the FA Cup up to March 1937 when he
joined Doncaster Rovers. Phypers also guested for Clapton Orient,
Southend United and West Ham United during the war. |

Harry Redknapp |
Former West Ham winger of the
1960s and 70s, Redknapp went on to manage the club before falling out
with the chairman. Spurs hired him in 2008 and he took Spurs to a
League Cup final and into the Champions League for the first time, but
he was keen on the England manager's job in 2012, when Spurs has stood
by him during a court case over un-paid tax. This led to his
sacking in the June of that year. |

playing for West Ham United. Had only been with the Irons for a
couple of weeks before a tackle in training by Julian Dicks broke his
leg and he never played for the club again. Went out on loan to a
couple of clubs and then dropped into non-league football before he
retired in November 1995 and trained as a physiotherapist, working at
Gillingham and West Ham. |
