   Tottenham beat Southampton 5-2 at Wembley today.  Click here for a match report.
   In doing so, Harry Kane's hat-trick broke the 22 year old record of Alan Shearer for the most Premier League goals scored in a calendar year with 39 - three more than the previous record.  He also scored 56 goals for club and country in 2017, making him the highest goal-scorer in the major European leagues, with three more than Lionel Messi.
   Club Brugge and Glasgow Celtic are both interested in signing Michel Vorm, while the weird rumour of the day appears to be Mauricio Pochettino's approach to Mikel Arteta to join the Spurs coaching staff, as the former Arsenal man has previously stated his dislike of Tottenham in the past.  Another odd rumour re-surfaced, with Spurs reported to have made a 8 million Euro offer for Besiktas' Serbian defender Dusko Tosic, but at 32, it would be an unusual signing for the club.

   Spurs are looking to seal a GBP10 million deal for Sheffield United's 20 year old winger David Brooks, while winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou looks set to be allowed to leave on loan or permanently according to the Daily Mirror.  20 year old Dimitri Oberlin of FC Basel looks set to turn down a move to Juventus in favour of a move to Tottenham or Arsenal..  Another winger - Nicolas Gaitan of Atletico Madrid - may be a January target, as the 29 year old looks likely to leave the La Liga club.

   Spurs are linked with a surprise move for Barcelona striker Luis Suarez should Harry Kane join Real Madrid, while other sources reckon it will more likely be a move for Olympique Lyonnais and Ivory Coast striker Maxwel Cornet, who might be more in line with Tottenham's recruitment policy being 21 and costing only GBP7 million.  Elsewhere, stories hint that Spurs might cash in on AC Milan's interest in Mousa Dembele by tempting them to swap the player plus cash to sign GBP44 million rated winger Suso.

   Tottenham have been drawn against Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League.  The away leg will be played first on Tuesday 13th February with a kick off of 19.45 UK time (20.45 local time) and the return leg will be at Wembley on Wednesday 7th March with a 19.45 kick off.
   The FA Youth Cup match against Preston North End planned to be played at Stevenage FC tomorrow night has been moved to Hotspur Way with a 14.00 kick off because of adverse weather conditions.  The match will not be open to the public.
   Tottenham Under-23s Premier League 2 fixture away to West Ham United London at Dagenham & Redbridge FC was postponed because of adverse weather conditions.
   Manchester City and Spurs are said to be watching 18 year old Matteo Guendouzi, who is a midfielder at FC Lorient.  Reports claim that Tottenham could agree a deal with Glasgow Celtic in January for striker Moussa Dembele and loan him back to the club for the rest of this season.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS: -  Toby Alderweireld will not be out for 14 weeks, the rumour of which arose from a comment that IF he had another injury in his recovery, it meant he might be out that long.  He will miss this match, as will Victor Wanyama, who has almost recovered from his knee injury.  Danny Rose's head cut will be looked at ahead of the match, but it looks as though he is likely to be up for consideration.

   Napoli are reported to be interested in signing Vincent Janssen, while Tottenham will vie with Torino to try and sign Dutch winger Steven Bergwijn of PSV Eindhoven.  The 20 year old was subject to a GB P9 million bid by Torino in the summer, so would go for a bit more than that in January.  Both former Spurs players at Real Madrid - Gareth Bale and Luka Modric - have been linked with a return to the club in the news today, how costly and how likely that will be remains to be seen.

   Tottenham have been linked to Trabzonspor attacking midfielder Yusuf Yazici, 20, while they are also watching Dani Ceballos' situation at Real Madrid as the 21 year old midfielder is said to be unhappy at the amount of game time he is getting.  The club are also rumoured to be watching Geffrey Kondogbia, the French midfielder who is on loan to Valencia from Internazionale

   Today's Spurs speculation surrounds Scottish defender Andrew Robertson, who has been sidelined after a summer move to Liverpool and persistent rumours link Tottenham to a move for West Ham United London's midfielder Manuel Lanzini.  Spurs may have to sell Toby Alderweireld according to the Daily Mail as the club refuse to break the pay stricture to meet his reported demands.  The Spanish press meanwhile reckon Tottenham will be signing Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro in January. 
   Former Charlton athletic and Derby County defender Chris Powell has joined the Spurs scouting network on an ad-hoc basis.
   Brazil's national side will use Hotspur Way as their training base ahead of the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia next summer.
