   Tottenham lost 1-2 at home to PAOK Salonika of Greece tonight.  For a match report, click here.
   A Spurs XI beat the Holland Sports and Future Football Academy (an organisation that takes players who have been released by Dutch clubs) 7-2 at Spurs Lodge today, with Ryan Mason scoring four goals and John Bostock, Cameron Lancaster and Massimo Luongo netted the other goals.
   The Metro links Spurs with a January move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.


   OTHER NEWS ... Steve Bruce was sacked as Sunderland manager today ... Aidy Boothroyd has been appointed as the new manager of Northampton Town with Andy King as his assistant ...

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Giovani dos Santos (groin) and Roman Pavlyuchenko (knee) are both doubtful for tomorrow's match against PAOK in the Europa League.  The team are definitely missing Niko Kranjcar (thigh), Michael Dawson (Achilles), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Danny Rose (ankle), while a number of key players will be rested, leaving the youngsters to come into the squad.

   The Sun claim that Spurs will make a £9 million move for former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Borja Valero, now with Villarreal.
   Vedran Corluka might seek a loan move away from Spurs in January to get some playing time ahead of the Euro 2012 finals, claims the Sun.

   The Sun claim that Tottenham are giving a trial to 18 year old Andy Najar - a winger from Honduras who plays for MLS side DC United.

   Harry Redknapp has told the Sunday Mirror, that unless Spurs suffer injuries, he does not intend to make any additions to the squad in the January transfer window.
   The People reckon Spurs will offer £10 million to Ajax to sign their Belgian international central defender Jan Vertonghen, who also interests Manchester City.
   The Mail on Sunday claim Tottenham want to wrap up the signing of 15 year old Jordan Ibe if they can agree a £500,000 fee and then they might loan him back to his club Wycombe Wanderers.  He has been watched by Tottenham's head of recruitment recently.


   OTHER NEWS ... Gary Speed, 42, the Welsh manager was found dead today reportedly having hanged himself in his own home.  MEHSTG's thoughts go to his family at hits difficult time ...

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS  : -  Spurs could be without the services of Rafael van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe, both hamstring victims, while striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will be fit again to play after suffering a back injury.
   WEST BROMWICH ALBION TEAM NEWS : -  Injury doubts over striker Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie as well as midfielder Paul Scharner appear to be clearing and all three might play tomorrow at the Hawthorns.
   The Sun claim that Tottenham are set to nip in ahead of Fulham, Liverpool and Manchester United with a £500,000 offer for Wycombe Wanderers' 15 year old striker Jordan Ibe.
   The Tottenham Youth team will take on Stevenage in the FA Youth Cup Third Round at Broadhall Way on Wednesday 21st December with a 19:00 p.m. kick off.

   The Independent reckons Spurs are homing in on a £9 million transfer for Blackburn Rovers Canadian striker Junior Hoilett in January.
   TalkSport links Spurs to an interest, along with Internazionale, in QPR midfielder - 25 year old Argentinian Alejandro Faurlin, who the West London club want £11 million for.
   The Sun reports that Emmanuel Adebayor would be interested in a permanent move to Tottenham at the end of the season, but the size of his wage packet might cause a problem in agreeing a deal.
   Former Spurs defender and reserve team manager Colin Calderwood has joined former team-mate Chris Hughton as his assistant at Birmingham City.

   Milos Veljkovic scored the only goal of the NextGen game against FC Basle in the game at Spurs Lodge this afternoon to take Spurs into the knock-out stage of the competition.
   The Daily Mail claims QPR are planning a £10 million bid for Jermain Defoe in the January transfer window.
   The Sun pits Spurs against Chelsea in a £7 million race to sign Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill in January.

   Jermain Defoe scored five goals for the Spurs XI in a friendly with Charlton Athletic at Spurs Lodge today and Ryan Mason scored once to round off the 6-1 victory.

   CRIME WATCH ... Chelsea manager Andre Villas Boas has been hit with a £12,000 fine after being found guilty of comments bringing the game into disrepute after his side lost at QPR ... 


   MEHSTG's spin story ... The Sun ran a headline saying "£20 million to axe AVB".  Sounds like the cost of a gruesome hit-man for the Chelsea boss is rising by the day.

   Tottenham beat Aston Villa 2-0 at White Hart Lane tonight.  For a match report click here.
   Harry Redknapp has told TalkSport that David Beckham could not be guaranteed a starting place in the Spurs team should he join the club from LA Galaxy. 
   The Daily Mail claim Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in 23 year old Palermo attacking midfielder Josip Ilicic, on whom they have put a £30 million price tag.

   The People claim that Tottenham are looking at 26 year old Germany and 1FC Koln striker Lukas Podoloski as an alternative to Emmanuel Adebayor, whose wages they would not be able to afford
   The same paper claim Tottenham will run the rule over Borussia Dortmund's Japanese striker Shinji Kagawa on Wednesday, when he plays against Arsenal in the Champions League.  The 22 year old forward has been attracting the attention of clubs form Italy and Spain and might be available for £9 million.
   Giovani dos Santos has had his goal for Mexico in the Gold Cup final against USA nominated for the Ferenc Puskas Award for the goal of the season.  Votes can be made on the FIFA  and on the France Football magazine website until 5th December.

   Gareth Bale admitted in the press today that it is nice to be linked with the interest from Barcelona, but that he was enjoying his football at Tottenham at the moment.  He also said he would not jeopardise Wales' international standing by playing for Team GB in the 2012 Olympics, but wanted to represent Britain if he could.
   Spurs Under-18s drew 3-3 with Leicester City U18s at Spurs Lodge today, with a Laste Dombaxe penalty and goals from Shaquille Coulthrist and Ruben Lameiras earning Spurs a point.

   It is rumoured that AC Milan are planning a £15 million offer for midfielder Sandro.


   OTHER NEWS ... Sepp Blatter has apologised for his comments about racism being resolved with a handshake, but said he has no intention of resigning from his position ... 

   CRIME WATCH ... The Bulgarian FA has been fined £34,230 for the "discriminatory behaviour" of their fans in the Euro 2012 qualifier against England in Sofia, when racist abuse was evident used against some England players ...  


   MEHSTG's spin story ... Manchester City announced a record £194.9 million loss on season 2010-11.  The club's Abu Dhabi owners will be looking down the back of their sofa for that piffling amount of cash.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Rafael van der Vaart is the biggest doubt for Tottenham's home game with Aston Villa on Monday 21st November.  The midfielder aggravated a hamstring in the Holland friendly last week and has high hopes of being fit for the Premier League game.  There are no other short term injury worries, with only Michael Dawson (Achilles), Danny Rose (ankle), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Niko Kranjcar (thigh) who remain side-lined.

   Tottenham announced pre-tax operating profits of £32.3 million in their financial results for the six months trading to June 2011 on an annual turnover of £163.5 million.  The club also announced their intention to take the club into private ownership by taking the company off the Stock Market and offering to buy out all the small shareholders by 12th January 2012.  This is claimed to make raising money for the new stadium more achievable.
   The opening of Enfield Town's new stadium at Donkey Lane, Enfield saw Spurs lose a friendly 1-2, with Jon Obika netting for Tottenham.
   Harry Redknapp hopes to be back on the touchline for Tottenham's next game against Aston Villa on Monday 21st November at White Hart Lane, after a speedy recovery from his recent heart procedure.
   Barcelona president Sandro Rossell has said that his club would not go as far as paying £35 million for Gareth Bale.
   Former Spurs forward Nick Barmby has taken over as caretaker manager of Hull City.

   CRIME WATCH ... Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been charged with racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrick Evra ... Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has denied bringing the game into disrepute after the  comments he made about referee Chris Foy who had sent off two of his players in a game at QPR ... Aston Villa's Barry Bannon has been charged with four driving offences including drink driving and failing to stop after an accident following a crash on the M1 ...


   MEHSTG's spin story ... UEFA President Sepp Blatter today proclaimed that any financial misdemeanours that come to light can be resolved by a dodgy handshake, as the perpetrators should say to each other, "this is just a business" and move on to another club where they can make a killing.

   Kyle Walker played the whole of England's 1-0 friendly victory over Sweden at Wembley tonight.  Scott Parker was an unused substitute.
   Croatia progressed to the Euro 2012 finals with a 0-0 draw and thus a 3-0 aggregate score over Turkey tonight, with Luka Modric playing the 90 minutes for his country.
   Former Spurs winger David Ginola is set to sue Gerard Houllier in France over comments made in the former Aston Villa manager's book about Ginola's performance in a World Cup qualifying game in 1993.
   Kyle Walker's partner gave birth tonight to a baby boy called Roman.


   OTHER NEWS ... The Republic of Ireland qualified for the Euro 2012 finals with a 1-1 draw and a 4-1 aggregate win over Estonia tonight ...

   Former Spurs goalkeeper and joint manager Ray Clemence has been admitted to hospital after feeling unwell while with the England squad on Friday and has stayed in for tests.  MEHSTG wishes him a speedy recovery.
   Sandro was an unused substitute in Brazil's 20-0 home friendly win over Egypt today
   Adam Smith played in England's 1-2 defeat in Belgium in the Euro 2012 qualifier tonight, completing the 90 minutes
   A Spurs XI will play Enfield Town at their new Queen Elizabeth II stadium in Donkey Lane, off Carterhatch Road, Enfield on Wednesday night with a 19:30 kick off.  Tickets are £10 adults and £5 concessions.
   The Academy side's match against Leicester City will take place at Spurs Lodge on Saturday with the game kicking off at Noon instead of playing the fixture away from home.  The return match to be played in Leicester on Saturday 16th January 2012. 
   In the FA Youth Cup Third Round, Spurs have been drawn to play away against either Leyton Orient or Stevenage, who play their Second Round tie on Wednesday night.  No date has been set for the tie yet.

   Scott Parker played 85 minutes of England's 1-0 friendly win over Spain at Wembley today, with Kyle Walker replacing him to win his first cap.
   Gareth Bale opened the scoring for Wales, who went on to win 4-1 in a friendly against Norway.  Bale played all 90 minutes.
   Ronnie Hawkins scored Tottenham Academy's goal from the penalty spot in a 1-2 away defeat at Birmingham City today.

   Vedran Corluka scored in Croatia's 3-0 away win against Turkey in their Euro 2012 first leg play-off tonight.  Both he and Luka Modric played all 90 minutes of the game.
   Russia drew 1-1 in a friendly in Greece tonight with Roman Pavlyuchenko an unused substitute.
   Giovani dos Santos played 52 minute of Mexico's 2-0 friendly win over Serbia today.
   Rafael van der Vaart played 66 minutes of Holland's friendly with Switzerland in Amsterdam that ended 0-0  tonight.
   The Daily Mirror claim that Barcelona had Gareth Bale watched at the recent Fulham game with a view to a £35 million bid for the defender in January.
   TalkSport's website reckon Harry Redknapp will make a move for Athletic Bilbao's striker Fernando Llorente in the summer.
   Tottenham's NextGen match against Internazionale in Italy has been re-arranged for Thursday 8th December with a 14:30 kick off (local time) at the Stadio Citta de Meda.
The home game at Spurs Lodge against FC Basel on Wednesday 23rd November will now kick off at 13:30 and not 14:00 as previously arranged.

   The postponed Premier League fixture from the opening day of the season against Everton has been rescheduled for Wednesday 11th January 2012 with a 19:45 kick off.
   Tottenham are being linked with Dulwich Hamlet's 17 year old centre-half Michael Chambers ... along with nine other clubs according to the Daily Mail.
   Sandro scored for Brazil in their 2-0 friendly win against Gabon in Libreville today.
   Adam Smith played the whole of England's 5-0 European Qualifying Championship win over Iceland at Colchester United FC tonight.  Tom Carroll was an unused substitute.
   England's Under-19s beat Denmark U19 at Brighton & Hove Albion FC tonight, with Harry Kane playing the first 60 minutes of the match.


   OTHER NEWS ... Portsmouth have named Michael Appleton as their new manager ... Dario Gradi has move from the Crewe Alexandra manager's position to be Head of Academy Football at the club, with his former Assistant Steve Davis taking over as manager ...

   The Metro claims that Spurs are set to miss our on Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, who they have bid for previously, but a £34 million offer from a club in Ukraine looks set to seal the Brazil forward's destination in January.
   The Daily Mirror reports that Tottenham's interest in Juventus forward Amauri could see Jermain Defoe move to QPR in the January transfer window.


   OTHER NEWS ... FIFA have very kindly allowed England and the other home countries to wear a Poppy armband in their international matches this week, after refusing them permission to wear poppies on their shirts.  The Duke of Cambridge - Prince William had to intervene to see the gnomes of Switzerland see sense ...

   Spurs are claimed to be behind a bid to spy on the members of the Olympic Park Legacy Company following the arrest of a 29 year old man in Sussex today on the grounds of fraud.  Baroness Ford, Chair of the OLPC, used partial privilege in City Hall to make the claims that Tottenham Hotspur had obtained information by illegal methods, but the club has issued a statement rejecting the claims made by Ford.
   Michael Dawson has undergone surgery on his Achilles tendon today in an attempt to resolve the soreness he has been feeling and he will be assessed by the clubs medical team again in December.
   The Metro claims Spurs have agreed a nominal fee for Juventus' Brazilian striker Amauri, who will earn £35,000 a week when he moves to London in January.
   The Daily Mirror claims Spurs and Arsenal are both in contention for the signing of 17 year old Le Harve winger Jeremy Balmy, who will be available in the summer and wants to move to England
   The Daily Mail reckon Tottenham will pursue a £10 million bid for Fulham striker Moussa Dembele in January after failing with two previous bids for the French striker, who the report said "impressed" on Sunday, although he failed to score with a large number of attempts on goal.


   CRIME WATCH ... Sunderland have fined Titus Bramble for bringing the club into disrepute by visiting a night club on a Tuesday night back in September, ahead of his appearance in a Teeside court on Thursday on sexual assault charges and a charge of urinating in the street ...

   The Metro claims that Tottenham are targeting former Arsenal transfer targets Eden Hazard of Lille and Ajax centre half Jan Vertonghen.
   A Spurs XI lost 1-3 at home to Ipswich Town this afternoon, with Tottenham's goal coming from Cameron Lancaster.
   Steven Caulker has been issued a fixed penalty notice for an incident in Swansea city centre, but the Police nor the Welsh club would comment on the matter further.


   CRIME WATCH ... Antolin Alcaraz of Wigan Athletic is to be charged with spitting at a Wolverhampton Wanderers player in yesterday's game ... 


   MEHSTG's spin story ... Chelsea are to name the new stadium sponsor in the New Year.  Saga are rumoured to be one of the leading contenders.

   Tottenham beat Fulham 3-1 this afternoon at Craven Cottage.  For a match report, click here.
   Kyle Walker and Scott Parker are in the England squad for the friendlies next week against Spain and Sweden.
   The Sunday Mirror claims that Tottenham are at the head of a queue of eight clubs willing to offer David Beckham a footballing home when his LA Galaxy contract expires this month, as he wants to play in a team challenging for honours and does not expect to be an automatic first choice.
   The paper also claims that to avert interest from England, Daniel Levy is considering offering Harry Redknapp a new three year contract.
   Former Spurs defender and Reserve team coach Colin Calderwood was today sacked as manager of Hibernian.

   The Under-18s had a record breaking win on the FA Premier Academy League by beating MK Dons 11-3.  Kenneth McEvoy got a hat-trick, Daniel Akindayini 2, Ronnie Hawkins  2, Laste Dombaxe, Lee Angol, Jack Munns and Shaquile Coulthirst scored the goals for Tottenham.

   The Metro claim Spurs are to be offered Emmanuel Adebayor for £10 million as Manchester City seek to get him off their wage bill in the summer.
   Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim Blackburn Rovers are to demand £18 million from Spurs and Newcastle United, who are interested in their striker Junior Hoillett.
   TalkSport reckon that Sao Paulo have said they do not intend to sell Spurs target Casemiro until 2013, after Internazionale made a bid for him.
   The Daily Mail have QPR down as making a £8 million offer for Jermain Defoe come the January transfer window.

   Harry Redknapp will miss the trip to Kazan to see Spurs play Rubin in the Europa League as he underwent a routine procedure to install two stents into his system to unblock arteries.  The Spur boss hopes to be fit to take charge of the side at Fulham on Sunday.
   TOTTENHMA HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : - A predominantly young squad headed out to Russia for the game in Kazan, with senior professionals Heurelho Gomes, Steven Pienaar, William Gallas and Roman Pavlyuchenko likely to play, with Jermain Defoe and Sebastien Bassong on the bench.  With Harry Redknapp back at home, Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan will take the team into the match in the manager's absence.  Still missing injured are
Giovani dos Santos (calf), Danny Rose (ankle), Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Niko Kranjcar (thigh), Vedran Corluka (foot) and Michael Dawson (Achilles tendon)
