   Tottenham lost 0-3 to Arsenal at the Emirate Stadium today.  A match report and reaction will follow in due course.
   Spurs have been drawn away to Manchester United in the quarter finals of the League Cup, which is a repeat of the final of last season.  The tie will be played in the week commencing Monday 30th November .

   The Daily Mirror reports that Sandro, the Internacional and Brazil midfielder is interested in a move to Tottenham.
   In the Sun, Roman Pavyluchenko's agent does him no favours by claiming it is not a lack of first team action, but psychological problems which are affecting his form.

   Aaron Lennon's ankle injury will prevent him taking part in Saturday's match at Highbury, but Jonathan Woodgate has not fractured any bones in his face after the clash with James Beattie in the Stoke City game.
   Former Spurs defender Calum Davenport has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm on his sister in the incident that saw him stabbed in both legs by his sister's boyfriend.

   Former Spurs defender and assistant manager Chris Hughton has been appointed as permanent manager of Newcastle United having taken control of the team at the start of this season on a temporary basis.

   Tottenham have submitted the planning application to Haringey Council for the new stadium to be built as part of the Northumberland Development project.  The club hope that building can begin at the turn of this year and be ready for moving into in 2012, when it will be partially finished and it will be completed for the 2013-14 season with the full 56,250.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Absentees will include Aaron Lennon (ankle), Luka Modric (broken leg), Jonathan Woodgate (concussion) and Ledley King (illness).  Jermain Defoe is serving the second goal of his suspension and Niko Kranjcar is cup-tied.
   EVERTON TEAM NEWS : - Dutch defender Johnny Heitinga should be available after a bout of cramp, with Leighton Baines, Diniyar Bilyadletinov, Joseph Yobo and Yakubu are all hoping to be ready to play.  However, the Toffees will be without Mikel Arteta, Phil Neville, Victor Anichebe, Steven Pienaar, James Vaughan and Phil Jagielka (all knee).

   REMINDER : - For those travelling to the League Cup tie at home to Everton tomorrow should note that Meridian Way (A1055) will be closed from 22:00 on the night of the game until 06:00 the next morning.  Anyone heading North to Enfield, the M25 and beyond, should make alternative journey plans.
   Harry Redknapp has told the Press about his interest in Brazilian and Internacional midfielder Sandro, who he wants to go to watch and assess the defensive midfielder.
   Former Spurs Head Coach Juande Ramos has left CSKA Moscow by mutual consent after a poor run of results.

   The Daily Mail reports that Ledley King is entering into new contract talks with Spurs, but may have to take a wage cut if he stays.
   A number of current and past Spurs players have been included as ambassadors for the England 2018 World Cup bid, including Peter Crouch, Terry Venables, Teddy Sheringham, Ossie Ardiles, Ricardo Villa, Ray Clemence, Gary Lineker, Glenn Hoddle, Gary Mabbutt and Sol Campbell.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Jonathan Woodgate could be in contention for a place in the team after playing a mid-week friendly and Michael Dawson also came through the practice match unscathed.  Jermain Defoe serves the first of a three match ban, while Giovani dos Santos (ankle) and Luka Modric (broken leg) are still ruled out.
   STOKE CITY TEAM NEWS : -  Robert Huth serves the first game of a three match suspension with Andy Wilkinson ready to step into the middle of the defence, while Liam Lawrence is doubtful with a virus.  Amdy Faye's back injury rules him out and Mamady Sidibe's recovery from knee surgery makes him a doubt for the game.
   Spurs Academy Under-18s beat Watford 3-2 at Spurs Lodge today, with the a goal from Ryan Fredericks and two from Harry Kane.
   Andrey Arshavin revealed that he almost joined Spurs, but a fee for the Russian midfielder could not be agreed with Zenit St. Petersburg.

   The Daily Mirror claims Spurs are lining up a £14 million deal for Brazilian 20 year old Internacional midfielder Sandro, although Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested.
   In the Daily Express, it is reported that Alex McLeish is targeting Gareth Bale as his first signing with the new money Birmingham City have, with a fee of £3 million quoted.
   Oscar Cardoza of Benfica is the forward Tottenham are after according to the Daily Star, with Blackburn Rovers also interested.

   Jonathan Woodgate came through a training ground friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge held at Spurs Lodge today, with Tottenham winning 3-0 thanks to two goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and one from Dean Parrett.
   The Sun report that Tottenham might make a January move for Club Brugge defender
Vadis Odjidja and the 20 year old could cost £5 million.
   The Daily Star reckons Spurs will allow Jamie O'Hara to stay at Portsmouth until the end of the season when his loan spell expires in January.
   Peter Crouch has been pictured in a West End club with Spurs team-mates late on Saturday night celebrating after the club's win over Portsmouth.

   Aaron Mokoena has called Jermain Defoe's stamp on him "cheap" and made no comment about his own part in the incident, where he grabbed his knee when the impact was on his shin.

   Tottenham won 2-1 against Portsmouth at Fratton Park this afternoon.  Click here for a match report and here for reaction.
   The Daily Mail claims that Roman Pavlyuchenko will seek talks with the Spurs management as he fears not playing regularly might harm his chances of playing for Russia in the World Cup finals, should they qualify through the play-offs.
   Spurs Academy side beat Birmingham City 3-2 at Spurs Lodge this morning.  Kudos Oyenuga, Ryan Fredericks and Tom Carroll scored the goals as Spurs Under-18s twice came back from behind.
   Harry Redknapp has told the Daily Mirror that he is sick of the two years of hounding he has had over rumours that he owes money to the tax man.  He said that he has paid .

  MEHSTG's spin story ... Darren Bent is claiming every shot on or off target in Sunderland games this season after a shot hit a beach ball and confounded Pepe Reina in today's match against Liverpool.  In fact, in reality, Bent is on 138 goals for the season as he is including those in training and in pre-match warm ups.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Wilson Palacios' presence being required at Honduras' World Cup finals qualification by the ruling military junta resulted in him returning to Spurs late and so he will not be playing at Fratton Park.  Luka Modric is still out with his broken leg (and has started jogging, but has had some pain and will be out for a while longer yet, while Giovani's ankle injury means he is not fit to be considered.  Jonathan Woogate's groin injury has not recovered enough for him to be up for selection and Roman Pavlyuchenko's Achilles injury might stop him being involved.  However, Ledley King has overcome his hamstring injury to be ready to start.
   PORTSMOUTH TEAM NEWS : -  Bouba Papa Diop, Richard Hughes and  Herman Hreidarsson are all ruled out with hamstring problems, while Jamie O'Hara is unable to play against the club he is on loan from.

   The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs have been offered Brazilian striker Adriano for free by Flamengo, as he seeks to regain his fitness for the World Cup finals in 2010.
   The News (a small local newspaper in the Portsmouth area) reports that Portsmouth hope to keep Jamie O'Hara on loan until the end of the season.

   Aaron Lennon and Peter Crouch started England's 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Belarus at Wembley tonight.  Lennon played 58 minutes before being substituted and Crouch played the full 90 minutes scoring two of the England goals.
   The Republic of Ireland drew 0-0 with tonight in and Robbie Keane captained the side as they completed their World Cup qualifying group games.
   Gareth Bale played 84 minutes of Wales' 2-0 away win against Lichtenstein in the World Cup qualifying group game tonight.
   Vedran Corluka and Niko Kranjcar both played all of Croatia's 2-1 win in Kazakhstan, with Kranjcar scoring the winning goal.
   Wilson Palacios played Honduras' 1-0 World Cup qualifying group game win over El Salvador that earned them a place in South Africa next summer.
   Jonathan Woodgate played a practice match yesterday and could be in contention for Saturday's game at Portsmouth.  Ledley King has also recovered from his hamstring pull and might also be up for selection at Fratton Park.
   Gareth Bale's agent has said the Welsh defender would be interested in a move to Italy should the chance arise, but denied that he would be part of any deal involving a swap for Dutch striker Klass Jan Huntelaar of AC Milan.  The Daily Mirror reports that the club are mulling over the prospect of the swap of Huntelaar for Roman Pavyluchenko, although Harry Redknapp later refuted any such move.
   Redknapp also denied that he would be making a move for Internazionale's midfielder Sulley Muntari in January.
   Ryan Mason scored the first goal in England Under-19s 2-0 win over Slovakia to end their European Championship campaign with three wins.  Adam Smith was also handed a full match, but Dean Parrett was an unused substitute and Steven Caulker was not included in the match-day squad after playing the previous two matches.
   After returning from a loan spell at Grays Athletic, goalkeeper Lee Butcher has left to join Leyton Orient on a month's loan.

   The Sun claims that Spurs will give David James his wish to leave Portsmouth in January with Harry Redknapp considering signing his former keeper for £1 million.  The paper tells us that the Spurs manager is only turning to the former Liverpool and Manchester City keeper after being unlikely to tempt Blackburn Rovers goalie Paul Robinson back to White Hart Lane.

   David James wants to leave Portsmouth and join Tottenham according to the Sunday Telegraph to try and force his way back into the England squad.  Nice to see he wants to join the club for the right reasons then. 
   AC Milan want to swap Klass Jan Huntelaar for Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko report the News of the World.
   This morning Wilson Palacios played in Honduras' 2-3 defeat by USA which sees them needing to get something from the midweek game against Costa Rica to gain a play-off place for the World Cup finals next year.
   England Under-19 qualified for the Elite Qualifying stage of the European Championships next year with another 3-1 win, this time over hosts Slovenia.  Stephen Caulker and Dean Parrett both started, with Ryan Mason an unused substitute for the game.

   Aaron Lennon started the game for England in Ukraine, but was substituted after 15 minutes when goalkeeper Rob Green was sent off.  England lost the World Cup qualifying match 0-1.
   Robbie Keane captained the Republic of Ireland in their 2-2 home draw against Italy in Dublin tonight.
   Gareth Bale played the whole of Wales' 1-2 defeat in Finland this afternoon in a World Cup qualifying game.
   Roman Pavyluchenko came on as a 54th minute substitute in Russia's 0-1 home defeat by Germany in the World Cup qualifier today.
   Sebastien Bassong was an unused substitute in Cameroon's 3-0 win over Togo in their World Cup qualifying game today.
   Adel Taarabt scored a late consolation goal as Morocco lost 1-3 to Gabon in their World Cup qualifier today.
   Tottenham's Academy side lost 2-4 against Leicester City today, with Kudos Oyenuga and Jose-Paul Mpoku scoring the Spurs goals.

   Winger Danny Rose played 69 minutes of the England Under-21s 6-3 friendly win over Macedonia at the Ricoh Arena before being substituted tonight.
   Midfielder Dean Parrett scored England Under-19s third goal in a 3-1 win over Finland in their European Championship qualifying game in Slovenia today.
  
The home Premier Academy League match against Watford, originally scheduled for Saturday 3rd October has been moved to Friday 23rd October with an 11:00 a.m. kick off.  The home game against Birmingham City will now kick off at Noon on Saturday 17th October instead of 11:00 a.m..
   Former Spurs winger Peter Taylor has been left Wycombe Wanderers as manager by mutual consent.

   Some of Tottenham's games in December have been moved for live TV coverage.
Tottenham's trip to play Everton at Goodison Park due to be on Saturday 5th December will now be on Sunday 6th December with a 4:00 p.m. kick off for Sky Sports coverage.
The home match against Manchester City will move from Tuesday 15th December to Wednesday 16th December kicking off at 8:00 p.m. for Sky once more.
And the same channel will show the Spurs v West Ham United match on Monday 28th December, but the kick off will now be at 12:45 p.m.
   Defender Alan Hutton withdrew from the Scotland squad who were just about to fly to Japan for a friendly international.
   Goalkeeper Lee Butcher has returned to Spurs after the expiry of his loan spell at Grays Athletic.
   The Sun claim Spurs are tracking the Internazionale and former Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari, although this may be a loan deal in January, as the Ghanaian's agent said the two clubs are talking about the move.

   Rumours circulating on the internet that Harry Redknapp was about to quit as Tottenham manager and return to Portsmouth prompted heavy betting on the possibility, but the Spurs boss said it was rubbish and that he was very happy at the club right now.
