   Tottenham beat Shamrock Rovers 3-1 in the Europa League at White Hart Lane tonight.  For a match report, click here.
   The Metro claim that Chelsea are to pip Spurs and Arsenal to the signing of Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.
   TalkSport's website claim that Tottenham's Europa League rivals Rubin Kazan will also be in for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo in January.

   The Metro claim that  Luka Modric is ready to commit himself to Tottenham and a £100,000 a week salary by signing a new contract.
   Ledley King has told the Daily Mirror that f he does not make the 20 games this season that manager Harry Redknapp says the club captain needs to play to earn a new contract, then he may retire.  King told the paper that he could not see himself playing for another club at this stage of his career, but he could not rule it out.
   Spanish and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera claims not to know about an approach by Spurs for his services according to the TalkSport website .
   Former Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda has signed a short term deal with Doncaster Rovers.

   Jack Munns' late strike won the NextGen match against PSV Eindhoven for the Under-18s tonight in Holland.  Souleymane Coulibaly put Tottenham one up right on the stroke of half time, but PSV hit back to equalise in the second half before Munns' late winner.

   Should Harry Redknapp take the England manager's job when Fabio Capello leaves the post, the People report that they have approached Carlo Ancelotti to fill his position, although Development Coach Tim Sherwood is thought to be a strong contender for the post.
   The People reckon that Harry Redknapp is keen on 22 year old Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, who is a Spanish Under-21 international and could cost as much as £20 million.
   In the same paper they claim that interest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan and Barcelona has pushed the asking price for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao out of Tottenham's reach at £50 million.
   Also in the People, they report that Spurs are to make Luka Modric the best paid player at the club with a salary of about £80,000 a week.
   Alan Hutton has hit out at Harry Redknapp in the People, saying that he felt that he was treated badly and made to train with the kids, as he was not bought by the manager and was eventually glad to get away to Aston Villa.  The Scot claimed that David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch all got he same treatment from the Tottenham manager.
   The Sunday Mirror runs a piece stating that AC Milan will be willing to offer Spurs £12 million for Rafael van der Vaart in January and that Harry Redknapp might be willing to advise Daniel Levy to accept the big money offer.

   Tottenham won 2-1 against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium today.  Click here for a match report.
   Spurs are set to battle it out with AC Milan for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo in January according to TalkSport's website, after the player's agent hinted he might not be signing a new deal at the La Liga club.
   Tottenham's Under-18s drew 1-1 with Aston Villa at Spurs Lodge today in the FA Premier Academy League with Dominic Ball scoring for Spurs.

   TalkSport indicate that Internazionale will compete with Spurs in January to sign Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.
   The Radio Station's website also claims that Spartak Moscow and Locomotiv Moscow will challenge each other for the services of Roman Pavlyuchenko in the January transfer window.
   Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp has told the Daily Mirror that Heurelho Gomes will leave in January after not being handed the chance to play on a regular basis.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : - 
Definitely out of the game against Wigan Athletic tomorrow are Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Aaron Lennon (groin), William Gallas (calf), Michael Dawson (Achilles), Niko Kranjcar (hamstring), Roman Pavlyuchenko (hamstring) and Steven Pienaar (groin), while Benoit Assou-Ekotto might miss out as he has a throat infection.  However, Rafael van der Vaart and Sandro are ready to play after playing in mid-week at Stoke City.
   WIGAN ATHLETIC TEAM NEWS : -   Hugo Rodellega's knee injury keeps him out of contention to play on Saturday, while defender Emmerson Boyce has a hamstring injury that rules him out too.  Steven Gohouri (hamstring) and Anton Alcaraz (calf) both have little chance of featuring in the game.

   The Daily Mirror reveals that Tottenham might make a January move for Academia de Coimbra Guinea-Bissau striker  Eder who will be allowed to leave while the Portuguese club can get a fee for him.

   Tottenham against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium tonight in the League Cup Third Round after the game finished 0-0 after 90 minutes and 180 minutes.  For a match report click here.
   The club have signed a section 106 Planning Agreement and this will pave the way for discussions with Haringey Council and the Mayor of London to move forward with the Northumberland Development.
   The Spurs XI lost 1-2 at Spurs Lodge against Brentford this afternoon, in which Milos Veljkovic scored the Tottenham goal.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  William Gallas and Sandro could both make their return from injury at Stoke City tomorrow night in the League Cup tie.  Harry Redknapp hinted that some players who did not play 90 minutes on Sunday could play including Rafael van der Vaart, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Vedran Corluka, Heurelho Gomes and Sebastien Bassong, along with some of the younger players who have played recently.

   The Youth team will take part in their next NextGen match a day earlier with the fixture at PSV Eindhoven to be played on Tuesday 27th September.

   Tottenham beat Liverpool 4-0 at White Hart Lane today.  For a match report, click here.
   The Sunday People claim Spurs have been in talks with 16 year old Peruvian centre-half Renato Tapia and they have made an open offer for him to sign for the club, but FIFA rules prevent that happening until he is 18.  However, it is possible to sign him and loan him out until he reaches that age.

   Harry Redknapp revealed in the Daily Mirror that he was keen to sign Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing - all player show might face Spurs on Sunday for Liverpool.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  The injury list for Tottenham still includes Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Sandro (knee), William Gallas (calf), Danny Rose (ankle), Aaron Lennon (groin), Steven Pienaar (groin) and Michael Dawson (Achilles).   There is better news in that Rafael van der Vaart has a chance of being as he has recovered quickly from his hamstring injury and Ledley King will be assessed in training on Saturday to see if  he can play against Liverpool.
   LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS : -  Kenny Dalglish has few problems with his squad, with nearly a full complement to choose from, excluding Steven Gerrard, who is not yet match fit and Glen Johnson who is troubled by a hamstring problem.

   TalkSport's website claims Spurs will vie with AC Milan for the signature of Sporting Lisbon defender Joao Pereira in the January transfer window.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  
Ledley King, Luka Modric, Scott Parker, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon, Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone, Sandro, Danny Rose, Steven Pienaar, Emmanuel Adebayor and William Gallas all miss out for the game against PAOK Salonika tomorrow for one reason or another.  In the squad that travelled are Heurelho Gomes, Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore, Harry Kane, Giovani dos Santos, Kyle Walker, Sebastien Bassong, Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenko, as well as a number of younger players.

   Spurs will be charging £30 for West and East Stand tickets for the Europa League and £25 for the North and South stands it was claimed in the Daily Mirror today, with Under-16s and Senior Citizens getting in for £10.

   Rafael van der Vaart has expressed his disappointment at being omitted from the Europa League squad on his official website saying the club could have discussed the selection with him.  He went on to add that he will be ready and focussed on Sunday's match against Liverpool now knowing he will not be involved in Greece on Thursday.

   Cameron Lancaster and Dean Parrett scored for the Spurs XI side in a home friendly 2-2 draw with West Ham United at Spurs Lodge.
   The Daily Mirror claims that Heurelho Gomes wants a move away from White Hart Lane in January, as Harry Redknapp confirmed the Brazilian keeper has dropped down the pecking order.
   Spurs were set to bank £13 million for Giovani dos Santos in the transfer window, but while a deal for £10 million plus £3 million in add-ons was agreed with Udinese, the Mexican midfielder did not want to play in Italy, but preferred a move to Sevilla, who were offering 3 million.  So Spurs decided to hold onto the player rather than sell him on the cheap according to the Mirror.

   The People reveal that Harry Redknapp wanted to sign Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo, but was frustrated as Spurs were unable to buy until deadline day due to the need to raise funds for player purchases.
   Also in the People, they claim that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is a target for the FA to be installed as the new England manager before Euro 2012 - perhaps on a part-time basis - with a view to him taking over from Fabio Capello.
   Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that he has been treated for his hamstring tear and could be fit for the game against Liverpool next week.

   Tottenham won 2-0 away at Wolves at Molineux this afternoon. For a match report click here.
   Auxerre midfielder Delvin Ndinga has told the TalkSport website that Spurs and Newcastle United enquired about him in the summer, but he chose to stay with the French club.
   Harry Redknapp has said in the Daily Mail that Ledley King will need to play 20 games this season to earn a new contract at the end of the season.
   Spurs Under-18s drew 2-2 away at Southampton today with goals from Shaquille Coulthrist and Grant Ward.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Tottenham will be missing Sandro (groin), William Gallas (calf) and Steven Pienaar (groin), but new signings Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker will both play in the Spurs team, while Ledley King may have recovered from his groin surgery and could be considered for the game.
   WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -  Matt Jarvis (ankle) and Adlene Guedioura (ankle) might both be fit for Wolves on Saturday.
   A number of papers report that Spurs want to sign David Beckham in January to help him in his bid to represent GB in the Olympic Games football tournament.
   TalkSport's website claims that Andres Villas-Boas reckons he no longer has any interest in signing Luka Modric for Chelsea.
   Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick has gone on loan to Leyton Orient for a month to cover for our other loan goalkeeper there - David Button - who injured a shoulder in a recent match.

   Midfielder Sandro has signed a new five year deal that will extend his contract until the summer of 2013.
   Shamrock Rovers will play the last group game of the Europa League at their Tallaght home ground.
   TalkSport claim that Tottenham's hopes of signing Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao of Internacional might be hit by interest from Barcelona.
   The radio station's website also reckons that Spurs will have to battle with Liverpool to sign Lucas, the Sao Paulo midfielder who has just broken into the Brazilian national side.
   The Daily Mirror claims Spurs are interested in signing David Beckham once his LA Galaxy contract expires and he becomes a free agent in the light of rumours that QPR would welcome his arrival at Loftus Road.

   A Spurs XI beat Kettering Town 5-4 in Jean-Paul Marna's testimonial at Nene Park tonight.  The goals were scored by Cristian Ceballos 2, Yago Falque 2 and John Bostock.
   The Daily Mail claim that Tony Pulis was making efforts to sign Scott Parker for Stoke City in the transfer window, before he signed for Tottenham, with the fact that his children are settled in schools in London influencing his choice.
   The Spurs Europa League squad named on the UEFA website has no Brad Friedel and no Rafael van der Vaart, but included are Yago Falque and Giovani dos Santos.
   Former Spurs defender Mark Stimson is to be the new manager of Kettering Town.


   OTHER NEWS ... A Welsh supporter died before the game with England at Wembley last night after a brawl on the external concourse with fellow Welsh fans ...

   Scott Parker came on as a 73rd minute substitute, while Jermain Defoe was an unused sub in England's 1-0 victory at Wembley over Wales, for whom Gareth Bale played all the game, in the Euro 2012 qualifier.
   Luka Modric played all of Croatia's 3-1 win over Israel in an Euro 2012 group qualifier tonight and scored the first Croatia goal.  Vedran Corluka started the match, but was substituted in the 46th minute, while Niko Kranjcar completed the full 90 minutes.
   Roman Pavlyuchenko was a 54th minute substitute for Russia in their 0-2 Euro 2012 qualifying draw with Republic of Ireland in Moscow tonight.
   Former Spurs defender Reto Ziegler has been loaned out by his new club Juventus to Fenerbahce for the rest of the season.

   Defender Adam Smith was called into the England Under-21 squad to join Spurs team-mate Steven Caulker for the Barnsley friendly against Israel.  Both players were unused substitutes in the 4-1 win for England.
   Tottenham's away game at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers has been moved from Saturday 22nd October to Sunday 23rd October (kick off 15:00) because of Tottenham's away Europa League trip to Rubin Kazan in mid-week prior to the match.

   The People claim that Sunderland could make a bid for Roman Pavlyuchenko in the January transfer window after failing with a loan swoop late in the window that has just closed.
   The Metro reckon that Spurs fear approaches from Manchester United and Chelsea in the January transfer window for Luka Modric.
   Giovani dos Santos played in Mexico's 1-0 win over Chile in a friendly in Barcelona today.
   Sebastien Bassong was an unused substitute for Cameroon in their 5-0 rout of Mauritius in their African Cup of Nations qualifier.
   Bongani Khumalo was a second half substitute as South Africa lost 1-2 to in the African Cup of Nations qualifying match.

   Rafael van der Vaart could be out for six weeks with the tear to his hamstring suffered in last Sunday's match against Manchester United.
   The Daily Mirror reports that Giovani dos Santos is annoyed with Tottenham for the breakdown in a transfer to Sevilla during the window.  A fee equal to that paid for the Mexican midfielder was agreed with Lazio and Genoa, but the player did not want to play in Italy and a fee was not able to be agreed with Sevilla.
   Spurs Under-18s lost 0-4 at Spurs Lodge to West Ham United today in the FA Premier Academy League.

   Tottenham have named their 25 man squad for the coming Premier League season (until the end of the winter transfer window) and it contains four goalkeepers and Giovani dos Santos.  The full list is ...
Friedel, Gomes, Cudicini, Alnwick, Assou-Ekotto, Dawson, Gallas, Kaboul, King, Corluka, Lennon, Livermore, Huddlestone, Modric, Kranjcar, Bale, Sandro, Parker, van der Vaart, dos Santos, Pienaar, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Adebayor.
In addition, the club can play as many players who were born before 1st January 1989 or players who have been with the club for 36 months (so Spurs do not need to include Kyle Walker or Andros Townsend for example).
   An international night saw a number of Tottenham players in action.
   Scott Parker played the whole 90 minutes of England's 3-0 away win over Bulgaria in Sofia tonight in the Euro 2012 qualifier.  Jermain Defoe was an unused substitute.
   Croatia beat Malta 3-1 away in their Euro 2012 group qualifier, with Vedran Corluka playing the whole match, while Luka Modric was kept on the bench.
   Younes Kaboul was in the French side from the kick off of their 2-1 Euro 2012 qualifying away win in Albania.
   Entering the game in the 46th minute, Roman Pavlyuchenko was part of Russia's 2-1 win over Macedonia in a Euro 2012 qualifier tonight.
   Gareth Bale starred for Wales in their 2-1 qualifying game against Montenegro at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff tonight, playing all 90 minutes.
   Giovani dos Santos was a 64th minute substitute in Mexico's 1-1 friendly draw in Poland tonight.

   Little news today in the aftermath of the transfer window apart from two stories coming out of that ....
   The Daily Mirror claims that Daniel Levy told Peter Crouch that there was no guarantee he would be in Tottenham's 25 man Premier League squad named on Friday and this prompted the striker to want to join Stoke City.
   The other story was that Owen Coyle responded to Tottenham's offer of including Sebastien Bassong and David Bentley in a last gasp deal for Gary Cahill by asking for Jermain Defoe as the player he wanted to seal the transfer.
   Steven Caulker played all of the England Under-21s 6-0 European Championship win over Azerbaijan tonight at Vicarage Road.
   Harry Kane featured for the England Under-19s in their 0-0 draw in Holland tonight, while William Ekong was on the Dutch team.
