The Metro claim that Luka Modric is ready to
commit himself to Tottenham and a £100,000 a week salary by
signing a new contract.
Ledley King has told the Daily Mirror that f he does
not make the 20 games this season that manager Harry
Redknapp says the club captain needs to play to earn a
new contract, then he may retire. King told the paper
that he could not see himself playing for another club at
this stage of his career, but he could not rule it out.
Spanish and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera
claims not to know about an approach by Spurs for his
services according to the TalkSport website .
Former Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda has signed a
short term deal with Doncaster Rovers.

Jack Munns' late strike won the NextGen match against
PSV Eindhoven for the Under-18s tonight in Holland.
Souleymane Coulibaly put Tottenham one up right on the
stroke of half time, but PSV hit back to equalise in the
second half before Munns' late winner.

Should Harry Redknapp take the England manager's job
when Fabio Capello leaves the post, the People report that
they have approached Carlo Ancelotti to fill his
position, although Development Coach Tim Sherwood is
thought to be a strong contender for the post.
The People reckon that Harry Redknapp is keen on 22
year old Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera,
who is a Spanish Under-21 international and could cost as
much as £20 million.
In the same paper they claim that interest from Real Madrid,
Barcelona, AC Milan and Barcelona has pushed the asking
price for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao out of
Tottenham's reach at £50 million.
Also in the People, they report that Spurs are to make
Luka Modric the best paid player at the club with a
salary of about £80,000 a week.
Alan Hutton has hit out at Harry Redknapp in
the People, saying that he felt that he was treated badly
and made to train with the kids, as he was not bought by the
manager and was eventually glad to get away to Aston Villa.
The Scot claimed that David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas,
Robbie Keane and Peter Crouch all got he same
treatment from the Tottenham manager.
The Sunday Mirror runs a piece stating that AC Milan will be
willing to offer Spurs £12 million for Rafael van der
Vaart in January and that Harry Redknapp might be
willing to advise Daniel Levy to accept the big money
offer.

TalkSport indicate that Internazionale will compete with
Spurs in January to sign Internacional striker Leandro
Damiao.
The Radio Station's website also claims that Spartak Moscow
and Locomotiv Moscow will challenge each other for the
services of Roman Pavlyuchenko in the January

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp has told the Daily Mirror

WIGAN ATHLETIC TEAM NEWS : - Hugo Rodellega's
knee injury keeps him out of contention to play on Saturday,
while defender Emmerson Boyce has a hamstring injury that
rules him out too. Steven Gohouri (hamstring) and
Anton Alcaraz (calf) both have little chance of featuring in
the game.

and Sandro could both make their return from injury
at Stoke City tomorrow night in the League Cup tie.
Harry Redknapp hinted that some players who did not play 90
minutes on Sunday could play including Rafael van der
Vaart, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Vedran Corluka, Heurelho Gomes
and Sebastien Bassong, along with some of the younger
players who have played recently.

year old Peruvian centre-half Renato Tapia and they
have made an open offer for him to sign for the club, but
FIFA rules prevent that happening until he is 18.

at being omitted from the Europa League squad on his
official website saying the club could have discussed the
selection with him. He went on to add that he will be

Cameron Lancaster and Dean Parrett scored for
the Spurs XI side in a home friendly 2-2 draw with West Ham
United at Spurs Lodge.
The Daily Mirror claims that Heurelho Gomes wants a
move away from White Hart Lane in January, as Harry
Redknapp confirmed the Brazilian keeper has dropped down
the pecking order.
Spurs were set to bank £13 million for Giovani dos Santos
in the transfer window, but while a deal for £10 million
plus £3 million in add-ons was agreed with Udinese, the
Mexican midfielder did not want to play in Italy, but
preferred a move to Sevilla, who were offering 3 million.
So Spurs decided to hold onto the player rather than sell
him on the cheap according to the Mirror.

Rafael van der Vaart could be out for six weeks with
the tear to his hamstring suffered in last Sunday's match
against Manchester United.
The Daily Mirror reports that Giovani dos Santos is
annoyed with Tottenham for the breakdown in a transfer to
Sevilla during the window. A fee equal to that paid
for the Mexican midfielder was agreed with Lazio and Genoa,
but the player did not want to play in Italy and a fee was
not able to be agreed with Sevilla.

window) and it contains four goalkeepers and Giovani dos

Huddlestone, Modric, Kranjcar, Bale, Sandro, Parker, van der

In addition, the club can play as many players who were born
before 1st January 1989 or players who have been with the

An international night saw a number of Tottenham players in
action.
Scott Parker played the whole 90 minutes of England's
3-0 away win over Bulgaria in Sofia tonight in the Euro 2012
qualifier. Jermain Defoe was an unused

Croatia beat Malta 3-1 away in their Euro 2012 group
qualifier, with Vedran Corluka playing the whole
match, while Luka Modric was kept on the bench.
Younes Kaboul was in the French side from the kick
off of their 2-1 Euro 2012 qualifying away win in Albania.

qualifier tonight.

Little news today in the aftermath of the transfer window
apart from two stories coming out of that ....
The Daily Mirror claims that Daniel Levy told
Peter Crouch that there was no guarantee he would be in
Tottenham's 25 man Premier League squad named on Friday and
this prompted the striker to want to join Stoke City.
The other story was that Owen Coyle responded to Tottenham's
offer of including Sebastien Bassong and David
Bentley in a last gasp deal for Gary Cahill by asking
for Jermain Defoe as the player he wanted to seal the
transfer.
Steven Caulker played all of the England Under-21s
6-0 European Championship win over Azerbaijan tonight at
Vicarage Road.
Harry Kane featured for the England Under-19s in
their 0-0 draw in Holland tonight, while William Ekong
was on the Dutch team.
