The Sunday People run a story that Juande
Ramos is homesick and wants to quit Spurs barely a year since he
arrived. His family of wife and three children have failed to
settle in the country and the manager is said to have had trouble
mastering the language and has not taken to the food or the weather
here. The story also claims that some players are unhappy
about their role in the side, namely David Bentley and the
club are not too impressed about the start to the season and Ramos'
lack of action in identifying a replacement for the now departed
Dimitar Berbatov. It also mentions that the money spent on
Roman Pavlyuchenko and Heurelho Gomes is being
questioned, as the club do not believe it has spent that amount of
money that wisely. There appear to be no direct comments from
anyone in the article though. The Spurs Head Coach later
denied this in his post match interview.
On a more positive note, they still think
Ramos will be in charge in January as they claim he will return to
Sevilla, but only to sign Diego Capel, the 21 year old
winger, who has not signed a new deal at the Spanish club and has
hinted he might still want to move to the Premier League. The
fee might be £12 million.

Sporting Director Damien Comolli's future is being considered
as chairman Daniel Levy takes a break on his yacht during the

it is to bring players in was given a list of those who interested
Juande Ramos, with Sergio Garcia being his prime
target. While it looked like he was certain to sign early on
Monday, he ended up signing for Real Betis from Real Zaragoza and
Comolli had to switch his attention to other forwards, including
Emile Heskey as the need to bring in a striker became more
pressing. Reading's Kevin Doyle was the next in line
and Comolli was given a brusque "No" because Steve Coppell had
stated he refused to sell any players on deadline day. This
left Daniel Levy, who had gone to Manchester to oversee the
Dimitar Berbatov transfer, hurriedly arranging with Manchester

Forty minutes after the transfer window closed, Manchester United

Spurs also got young striker Fraizer Campbell on loan for the

agreed to withdraw their complaint about United's pursuit of the

It appears that relationships between Spurs and Manchester United

Spurs were rumoured to be ready to close a

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan said
that they didn't want to let striker Emile Heskey go, but if
the right bid came in from Tottenham for him and the player wanted

Heskey's former England strike partner
