want Sunderland to go to £15 million if they want to sign
Darren Bent.
Not content on messing Tottenham about by threatening to
pull out of a deal for Darren Bent, Sunderland are
linked with bids for David Bentley and Michael
Dawson in the Sunday People. The deal would be
worth £16 million for the pair and the paper speculates that
Harry Redknapp may use the money to fund a bid for
Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole and Manchester City
centre half Richard Dunne.
The News of the World claim Harry Redknapp may be looking to
sign Bayern Munich's Dutch captain Mark van Bommel
for £5 million, after failing to engineer a move for
Patrick Vieira. If Spurs do complete a deal for
van Bommel, it will be eight years after their first move
for the midfielder.
The Sunday People also reckon that transfer target Klaas
Jan Huntelaar is also being tracked by AC Milan and
Ajax, while Portsmouth goalkeeper David James has
said he does not intend to move on form Fratton Park,
despite links with interest from Spurs.
Kyle Walker played for the England Under-19s in their
0-2 European Championship final defeat by host country
Ukraine.
The Under-18 side claimed fifth place in the EuroFoot
tournament with a 4-0 win over Standard Liege, with goals
from Chace O'Neil , Cameron Lancaster, Kudos Oyenuga
and Coskun Ekim.

The Daily Star claims that Darren Bent has been fined
two weeks wages (quoted as being £120,000) for his Twitter
outburst about Daniel Levy's handling of his transfer
deal.
Steve Bruce has threatened to pull the plug on the Bent
transfer, as he feels that progress is not being made, with
him alleging that no fee has been agreed yet and he has not
had permission to speak to the player either.
The Under-18s drew 2-2 with Gent and beat Willem II 2-0
before losing 0-1 to Anderlecht and failing to qualify for
