Victor Wanyama has returned to England to have a scan on a knee injury picked up on tour in the US.  Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko will not take part in the International Champions Trophy match against AC Milan on Wednesday morning.
Internazionale midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, 24, has been linked with an GBP18 million move to Tottenham, while rumours hint that young Aussie stopper Tom Glover has taken his gloves on trial to Birmingham City and Tottenham may bring in Orgryte IS Swedish midfielder Robin Glavak, 15, to have a trial at the club ahead of being signed up permanently.  There is even a story that Spurs might be looking to bring back winger Iago Falque - now 28 and with Torino - to White Hart Lane.

Top Tottenham stories are mainly about Reo Griffiths' exit from the club with Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid the latest clubs interested in his services, while Spurs are reportedly in talks with Valencia over a transfer for their recently signed French midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who might cost up to GBP72 million (apparently).  If that is the case, I can't see him coming to the Tottenham Hotspur StɅdium.

Tottenham drew 2-2 with Barcelona in the ICC Champions Trophy early this morning at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena.  Barcelona took a two goal lead in the first halof, before two goals in three minutes from Heung-Min Son and George-Kevin Nkoudou levelled the scores.  Barcelona went on to win 5-3 on penalties.
The big transfer talk to day is that Reo Griffiths has allegedly cancelled his contract with Tottenham and is heading to Lyon to play his football, while Jack Grealish is not being allowed to leave Aston Villa now they have some money behind them (Bet he's pleased about that !! I know I am) and Mauricio Pochettino has denied that Spurs are planning to bring Gareth Bale back to the Lane.

Rumours surrounding young players dominate today's news.  21 year old Brazilian striker David Neres is being allowed to leave Ajax, as long as the Dutch club's valuation of GBP44.5 million is met, while 19-year-old Abdulkadir Omur - a Trabzonspor midfielder - is attracting interest from Benfica, but they will not pay the GBP14.2 million required for his transfer, leaving Spurs an option on the talented youngster.

Another Spurs youngster might be leaving the Academy, with striker Reo Griffiths rumoured to be on the verge of a move to Olympique Lyonnais, with Glasgow Celtic also linked with the 18 year old.  Daniel Levy seems determined to wait until the end of the transfer window to get the best deal out of Aston Villa for Jack Grealish, while Moussa Sissoko has been telling the media he is ready for his biggest season yet at Tottenham.  Rumours on Harry Kane moving to Manchester United have seen the odds slashed on the transfer, but without much substance.  Wilfried Zaha has been setting tongues wagging with a social media post that has been interpreted as Tottenham being poised too make a move for the Crystal Palace winger and Spurs and Manchester United are allegedly oceans apart in their valuation of Toby Alderweireld.  Tottenham still hope to get Anthony Martial as part of the deal.
The arrow A in Stadium that is a nod to "the club's North London heritage" has brought comments on it's similarity to a similar Ʌ  in other club's stadiums who are sponsored by Nike.

Tottenham beat AS Roma 4-1 early this morning in San Diego, with two goals each from Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura in the ICC Champions Trophy.
Spurs are today being linked once again with a late GBP20 million move for Jack Grealish of Aston Villa, despite claims from the Midlands that he would not be sold on the cheap.  GBP20 million.  Cheap ?

The club's new stadium is officially to be known as The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with some contention of the lack of naming rights money that was expected to be raised from it.  Additionally, rumours are gathering pace that Tottenham may not have the stadium ready by October forcing the NFL match between Seattle Seahawks and Oakland  Raiders to Wembley.  The first test event set for the stadium on Bank Holiday Monday in August will see Brighton & Hove Albion's Under-23 side visit the ground.
Former Spurs midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has left Eintracht Frankfurt to join Sassuolo.

Having spent a week looking at my phone seeking news of incoming transfers, I return home to the rumours that Paris Saint Germain want Jan Vertonghen and Real Madrid want Hugo Lloris for GBP60 million.  Great !!  The only link with a prospective purchase is the flighty Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, whose price seems to have gone up to GBP40 million, so, come on Spurs, look elsewhere for better value, even if he is English.  Some reports claim Tottenham are sure they can sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United despite rumours they will only sell him abroad, although I suppose it depends on how much they want Toby Alderweireld. 
Coming up to the start of the season, the club announced a thigh muscle injury will rule Juan Foyth out of the start of the campaign and Josh Onomah was also left behind in the UK to get over his injury, while Harry Winks is progressing well and might be ready to start training with the first team group again soon.
Two test events for the new stadium have been announced and they ar eon Monday August 27th at 14.00 when an Academy match will be played and then on Saturday 1st August, a Spurs Legends side will take on a Bayern Munich Legends team, kicking off at 14.00.
Harry Kane has been nominated among the top ten Players of the Year in FIFA's opinion.

Allegedly, Danny Rose is a target for Paris Saint Germain, who are looking for a new left back, while Trabzonspor's 19 year old central midfielder Abdülkadir Ömür is linked with Spurs, Benfica and Leicester City and River Plate midfielder Gonzalo Martinez's agent is in England with Tottenham, Southampton and Everton linked to the 25 year old.  Joao Mario has been mooted as a loan target for Spurs, as Internazionale try to sign Mousa Dembele, but this rumour seems to have no legs (make up your own joke here).
Heung-Min Son has been called up by South.Korea, but don't worry ... it's not for National Service, but for the football squad who will play in the Asian Games at the start of August, causing him to miss four Premier League games for Tottenham.
Our Under-23s have been drawn against Norwich City, Athletic Club Bilbao and VfL Wolfsburg in Group C of the 2018-19 Premier League International Cup. Fixture dates are yet to be scheduled.
Former Spurs Development striker Ryan Loft has reportedly signed a two year deal with Leicester City.

Hugo Lloris captained France to the World Cup by beating Croatia 4-2 in Moscow tonight.   .
Harry Kane was also a World Cup winner, taking home the Golden Boot for top scoring in the tournament with six goals.
Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes apparently wants to move to Tottenham, it has been reported, while Benjamin Pavard of VfB Stuttgart and World Cup winners France is being lined up as a replacement for Toby Alderweireld, should the Belgian leave this summer.   .

Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld helped Belgium to a World Cup Third Place finish 2-0 win in the play off with England this afternoon.  Both players played the whole game, with Mousa Dembele coming on as a 78th minute substitute.  Danny Rose completed the first 45 minutes, Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Kieran Trippier the whole 90 and Dele Alli (85) came off the bench, but could not help England turn the score-line around.

Dele Alli and Harry Kane played all of England's 1-2 defeat by Croatia after extra time in the World Cup semi-final tonight in Moscow.  Kieran Trippier opened the scoring, but limped off just before the end of extra time with a groin injury.  Danny Rose (90) and Eric Dier ( ) came off the bench for England.

Hugo Lloris will play in the World Cup final after skippering France to a 1-0 victory over Belgium in the semi-final tonight.  It was a sad result for Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, who played the whole game, while Mousa Dembele started and was substituted after 60 minutes.

Some of the players who were not involved in the World Cup have returned to pre-season trianing at Hotspur Way today.
Worrying rumour of the day is that Spurs are interested in €18 million rated Besiktas central defender, Domagoj Vida, who is 29 and playing for Croatia at the World Cup.  The only problem is that he doesn't look very good, although he would be the first Domagoj in a Spurs shirt, elsewhere the media has Spurs as hot favourites to sign Leicester City centre-half Harry Maguire to increase the quotient of Harrys in the Spurs team to a potential all time high of three.  We might also have a first in having a Malcolm in the side.  Oh, no, Sorry.  That is Malcom, who Tottenham have spoken to Bordeaux about a deal for the Brazilian 21 year old striker.  .

Dele Alli scored England's second goal in their 2-1 win over Sweden in the World Cup quarter-final in Samara tonight.  He was substituted in the 77th minute, with Eric Dier coming off the bench on 85 minutes.  Danny Rose was an unused substitute, with Kieran Trippier and Harry Kane playing all of the match.
Spurs have apparently been offered 31 year old Belgian midfielder Dries Mertens by Napoli for the cut price fee of GBP44 million !!  Not sure Daniel Levy might see it that way.

Wilfried Zaha has turned down a new contract at Crystal Palace and immediately, this indicates that Tottenham will make a move to sign the Ivory Coast winger and Spurs are also reported to be favourites to sign Alessane Plea of Nice, after Borussia Moenchengladbach were unable to agree a move for the striker rated at GBP27 million.  .
France went through to the World Cup semi-final with a 2-0 win over Uruguay, with Hugo Lloris leading them to the win and they will meet Belgium, who knocked out Brazil 2-1 with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld playing the whole game and Mousa Dembele was an unused substitute.  Napoli are interested in signing Fernando Llorente as his father has said that the forward will not sign anew deal with the club; weird rumour of the day is Spurs being favourites to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City ahead of Manchester United and Colombia's midfielder Wilmar Barrios could soon be leaving Boca Juniors in Argentina with Tottenham reported by the local press as his destination

Defender Ricardo Rodriguez of AC Milan and Switzerland is said to be a transfer target for Tottenham (and Borussia Dortmund), but the Serie A club have rejected the rumour.  In the French press, Spurs are reported as the only club to make a concrete offer so far for Tanguy Ndombele - the Olympique Lyonnais midfielder - claimed to be GBP39.6 million.  Tottenham are widely reported as being favourites to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, 22 and while there are a wide number of rumours in the media today, many are re-hashed and even the one about Gareth Bale returning to White Hart Lane has a strange ring to it after Real Madrid look likely to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus.

Adrien Rabiot is on Tottenham's radar according to some reports, but others feel it is just a story to get him a better contract at Paris Saint Germain, but stories that are a bit more hopeful surround an alleged €50 million offer to Borussia Dortmund for American attacker Christian Pulisic.  One story I couldn't quite get my head around is the supposed reduction in transfer fee for Bordeaux's Brazilian striker Malcom, which means Internazionale are dropping out of the reckoning, leaving Spurs or Bayern Munich as favourites to sign the 21 year old.  Tottenham are still fighting Everton for Glasgow Celtic full back Kieran Tierney, while our youth defender Jaden Brown is on trial with Dutch side NEC Nijmegen, looking like another Academy star is off to the continent this summer.   Sporting Lisbon's midfielder Gelson Martins is linked with Spurs, as he seeks to leave the trouble-torn Portuguese club, with Benfica's Spanish defender Alejandro Grimaldo also heavily featured in the Tottenham transfer rumours today, although Napoli and Borussia Dortmund are also interested.  Barcelona's Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes is available at GBP35.2 million, with Arsenal also keen on the 24 year old.  Stuttgart's French international defender Benjamin Pavard is attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid following Tottenham's enquiry about his availability.  West Ham United London loanee Joao Mario has been offered to Spurs by Internazionale in a swap deal for Mousa Dembele, but the deal has been rejected by the White Hart Lane management.
Under-18 manager Scott Parker has left the club to take up a first team coaching position at Fulham.

Eric Dier came on for England as an 81st minute substitute for Dele Alli and scored the winning penalty in a 4-3 shoot-out win after a 1-1 draw , with the England goal scored by captain Harry Kane from the penalty spot.  Danny Rose left the bench in the 102nd minute and Kieran Trippier played the whole 120 minutes.  Trippier and Kane were also successful from the spot in the penalty shoot-out.  Davinson Sanchez played the whole game for Colombia.

Jan Vertonghen scored for Belgium in their 3-2 victory over Japan in the Round of 16 at the World Cup tonight, with Toby Alderweireld also playing the 90 minutes and former Spur Nacer Chadli coming on in the 65th minute to score the winner in the 94th minute.  Mousa Dembele was an unused substitute
Heung-Min Son may miss the start of the season as he could feature in the Asian Games, which, should he win with his South Korea team, may see him get an exemption from the national service he would have to do in two years time.
Stuttgart have knocked back an offer from Spurs for French right back Benjamin Pavard, saying they will not sell him this summer, although Spurs have been on his case for a couple of years now.  Alejandro Grimaldo is again on the Tottenham radar, with rumours that Danny Rose will be leaving this summer, with the Spanish left back at Benfica said to be rated at €30 million by Spurs.

Christian Eriksen had his penalty saved in the shoot out after a 1-1 draw with Croatia at the World Cup today, with Luka Modric missing a penalty late in extra time before converting one in the shoot-out to captain his side to the quarter finals.
