I’m contacting you from a television production company called North One where we are currently making Sky One’s new football show called Premiership All Stars.
Put as simply as possible, the show is a week long 7-a-side football tournament that contains all 20 Premier League clubs. Each team will enter a squad of 10 players made up of 4 legends, 3 famous fans and 3 real fans and the whole thing is backed by the Premier League and all the Premier League clubs. Football legends definitely confirmed so far to play for the leagues various teams include Fabrizio Ravenelli, Paul Merson, Ray Wilkins and Ruud Gullit among many other legends yet to be confirmed.
We are desperately looking for Spurs fans that would like the chance to play alongside some genuine Spurs legends. I’m hoping you can spread the word to a
s many Spurs fans as possible.
The tournament will be shown live on Sky over eight nights from Sept 23rd – Sept 30th this year.
We want Spurs fans to apply to play for Spurs by emailing us at
allstars@northonetv.com or by post to All Stars, North One TV, 46-52 Pentonville Road, London N1 9HF  with a description of themselves, who their favourite legend is and why they should go through to represent Spurs.
The best entries will go forward to a trial on 4th or 5th August where the three lucky winners will be chosen to go forward to actually play for their chosen team.
Apologies that time is short but we haven’t had the response from Spurs fans we were expecting, so this is a real plea for fans to send in their applications as soon as possible to be in with a chance of playing in this tournament.    The Daily Star say that Jermain Defoe will be amongst the host of players that Martin O'Neill will spend £30 million on to take them to Aston Villa, although the Spurs striker has said no to a £9 million move to Sunderland.  Manchester City are supposedly interested in Defoe, as Sven Goran Eriksson attempts to sign all the players he snubbed as England manager.  The Times report that Spurs have shown an interest in signing a 21 year old right back called Vedran Corluka from Dinamo Zagreb.  Tottenham's interest in Nantes' Swedish midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson is unlikely to be realised as his agent is looking to keep his client at AS Roma.

Left sided midfielder Reto Ziegler has been allowed to join Sampdoria on a permanent basis after spending the patter part of last season on loan at the Genoa based club after Tottenham agreed to the transfer.
Reserve striker Mark Yeates has left Spurs for Colchester United in a deal involving a six figure fee (which is less than than £300,000, which is the club's new transfer record).  Yeates might be joined at Layer Road by ex-Spur Teddy Sheringham, who is expected to sign up as player-coach at the Essex club.

Tottenham's players returned to pre-season training today, with less than six weeks remaining before the Premier League season starts.
Relegated French side Nantes does not appeal to Swedish left sided midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson, who is looking to move on and a proposed move to AS Roma, where he was on loan last season, has
failed to materialise.  Spurs have shown interest in the past and may make a move again to strengthen the left side of the team.  Auxerre's Julien Faubert has decided to join West Ham United after they gazumped Glasgow Rangers to sign the player, who had also been linked with Tottenham, for £6.1 million.  Mathias Jorgensen, a talented 17 year old who attracted admiration from Spurs and Arsenal, as well as some other Premier League sides, has turned his back on the English game and has signed for FC Copenhagen.
Released by Spurs at the end of the season, goalkeeper Rob Burch has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a 12 month contract.

MEHSTG's no-spin story ... Arsenal have signed a player - Eduardo da Silva from Dinamo Zagreb - claiming that they have paid £7.5 million for him, while his club say they paid £16 million.  It is probably to prevent their fans not being shamed into thinking he is as good as Thierry Henry.

The News of the World claim Spurs and Arsenal will battle it out for the signature of West Bromwich Albion central defender Curtis Davies, who might cost £8 million.  They also claim that Tottenham are one of a number of Premiership clubs who have been alerted to the availability of Celtic's Japanese midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura, who has a £1 million release clause in his contract, reckoning that Spurs' £6 million offer has been rejected by the Scottish champions.  The club say the condition doesn't exist, but the player's agent says it does.  It's all Spurs news in the NoTW, as they reveal that Mido's move to Fulham collapsed because the Cottagers  would not be "held to ransom" over his wage demands.  The People have Tottenham down as ready to sign up Celta Vigo's 25 year old Spanish international midfielder Borja Oubina and 29 year old midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng of Hertha Berlin, while Bolton Wanderers are weighing up a move for Spurs midfielder Danny Murphy.  Over at the Sunday Mirror, Spurs, Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers are said to be vying for the 25 year old Celta Vigo winger Nene.  Sam Allardyce has rebutted rumours that  Kieron Dyer is about to leave Newcastle United for Tottenham.  Good.
The Sunday Mirror bucks the "Defoe To Go" bandwagon and report that Martin Jol is to offer the striker a new contract of five years duration, should he wish to accept it.  With two years remaining on his current deal, if Jermain decides he is going to leave, he might wait until January to decide whether he stays or goes.

The Mirror also carry a story about the board of the club making a decision soon about the future of the ground at White Hart Lane.  They seem to favour the theory that the club will decide to buy up as much land around the stadium as they can and then demolish the existing structure to rebuild it from scratch.  During the supposed two years that the rebuild would take, the newspaper claims Spurs will play at Wembley, with Daniel Levy to make a representation to the FA soon to sound out the possibility of staging home matches at the national stadium.
