- Former Tottenham transfer targets,
Michael Bridges and Lee Clark have been
transfer-listed by Sunderland, along with Allan
Johnston.
- Worryingly, Tottenham have been
linked with a move for Everton's Italian central
defender Marco Materazzi. Where he would fit in
with Chris Perry due to arrive would be a bit of
a mystery.
- Les Ferdinand has said that he is
fit and raring to go for Tottenham this coming
season. While many thought the ex- Queens Park
Rangers and Newcastle United striker would be on
his way, Ferdinand pronounced that after the
Worthington Cup victory he is looking to add to
his medal collection.
- Allan Nielsen arrives back in London
today looking to determine his status at the
club. His transfer request has not yet been
agreed, but he insists that his future lies away
from White Hart Lane and out of this country.
Should he be allowed to leave, his most likely
destination is Italy.
- George Graham has said that he is
not satisfied with the current squad at Tottenham
and is looking to add players, although he didn't
say exactly how many. He hopes to add some before
the start of the season as Spurs embark on three
cup fronts and GG expects a decent League season
ahead.
- Manchester United today announced
that they are to opt out of next season's FA Cup.
This will allow them to compete in the first
World Club Championship, which takes place in
January 2000.
- The old chestnut about Middlesbrough
being interested in Chris Armstrong has broken in
the papers again. The reported £4.5 million deal
would see the striker return nearer to his
North-Eastern roots.
29.6.99
- Chris Perry has said that he is not
sure waht is happening at the moment and has
commenced pre-season training with Wimbledon.
However, TeamTalk suggest he may be a Spurs
player by the weekend.
- Juninho is up for sale at Atletico
Madrid. The former Middlesbrough midfielder had
an unhappy season with injuries and disaffection
at being a substitute under Arrigo Saachi. He is
on the transfer list and would cost around £10
million to buy, with Spurs, Manchester United and
Boro all being linked with a return to the
Premiership for the diminutive Brazilian.
- Martin O'Neill is denying that
Leicester City are set to make a move for Allan
Nielsen.

that are restricting the progress of homegrown
talent.
- Roma are considering a £13 million
bid for Sol Campbell.
- Aston Villa have told Ugo Ehiogu
that he will not be allowed to leave the club.
This puts an end to speculation that Tottenham
were to launch a £6 million bid for the central
defender.
- It is thought that George Graham
could offer Ruel Fox as bait to Norwich City for
the signing of Craig Bellamy. The Spurs winger is
also interesting Everton, Fulham and Ipswich
Town. Rumours are that GG will wait until the end
of the week to start his serious dealing, as
contracts expire on 1 July and he will be able to
shop around after this date.
- Portsmouth have signed former
Tottenham defender Jason Cundy on a free transfer
from Ipswich Town. They hope to link him up with
Tottenham striker Rory Allen, who they are sizing
up a £1 million bid for.
- Oyvind Leonhardsen's move to

Nielsen to Leicester City. If the £4 million
deal for the Danish midfielder goes ahead, then

matching Liverpool's asking price of £3 million.
- Media Monitor claimed that no
approach was made to club or player in the Radek
Bejbl rumour that was in the papers at the
weekend.
- Former Tottenham midfielder, Terry
Yorath has been appointed as coach at newly

in joining this week.
- Darren Anderton has hinted he is now
happy with the contract extension Tottenham have
offered and is willing to sign in the next few
weeks. He said that he wanted to stay at
Tottenham despite recent rumours that Manchester
United and Middlesbrough were keen to sign him.
- Apparently, Tottenham's interest in
Radek Bejbl of Athletico Madrid has gone on too
long without anything happening, so the player
has decided to stay at the Spanish club, who lost
the Spanish Cup Final last night. I thought we
were interested in him when Francis was manager
??
- Leicester City are reported to be
interested in buying Allan Nielsen. This is to
strengthen their squad for the coming season and
to make a statement to Emile Heskey that they are
ambitious and want him to stay. This must say
that Tottenham have better players if they can
afford to let Nielsen leave and that Heskey would
be better off moving in the other direction.
- Following yesterday's news that
Tottenham have cooled their ardour for Chris
Sutton, Chelsea seem to be following suit with
Davor Suker their new target. This could
surprisingly put Spurs back in pole position for
the Blackburn Rovers striker, but how much he

On top of this he is still agitated about leaving
the club, with Celta Vigo reportedly having an
offer turned down and Fiorentina among others
waiting to see what develops.
- Neil Lennon's signing of a new deal
at Leicester City may not be enough to keep Emile
Heskey at the club. The news means that Spurs may
get their man after all, but the sticking point
is the reported £10 million price tag, something
which put Tottenham off Chris Sutton (for whom
Blackburn Rovers have had precisely NO offers).
However, a player exchange deal may tempt Martin
O'Neil into dealing with Spurs.
- Fears over the future at Tottenham
of Sol Campbell and Darren Anderton may be
resolved shortly. Anderton was reported as
dismissing Tottenham's latest offer, but appears
to want more time to think it over, while Sol is
thought to be satisfied with the offer Spurs have
made and is likely to extend his current deal
fairly soon.
- Recent rumours surrounding Arsenal's
Stephen Hughes are likely to resurface after he
was put on the transfer list today. Spurs were
one of the clubs linked with the young

should Heskey be signed and the former Crystal
Palace striker is surplus to requirements.

Perry to Tottenham, saying it was news to him

did not happen, he would stay to fight for his
place at Liverpool.
22.6.99
- It is rumoured that Argentine
Under-21 international defender Gabriel Milito of
Independiente is to fly to London to discuss a
£3 million transfer to Tottenham Hotspur. David
Pleat has said that although the club had wanted
to watch the player at the weekend, arrangements
had to be cancelled. It is thought that he was
watched over the weekend as his national Under-21
side took part in the Toulon tournament. TeamTalk

Chris Perry deal.

have made no enquiries about Jimmy Floyd
Hasselbaink of Leeds United.

in Norway is a £4 million target for Tottenham.

move for Ugo Ehiogu of Aston Villa following

papers report that Arsenal are sizing up an £8
million bid for the Villa defender.
- Robbie Keane is apparently not keen
to move to Middlesbrough even though they are the
only side so far to meet the Wolves asking price.
This leaves the door open for the pack of other
clubs, including Tottenham to move in for his
transfer.
- It appears that Darren Anderton has
refused a second contract offer made by
Tottenham. The £14,000 a week 3 year deal is not
enough to satisfy the England midfielder
apparently and he is holding out on the club.
Chelsea and Middlesbrough are waiting in the
wings should Tottenham decide to cash in on
Anderton before he is free on a Bosman when his
contract expires next summer.
- Emile Heskey's contract talks with

Italy after all the rumours about a transfer to
Auxerre.

United and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink break down on
his return after the summer break.
- Doubts are being expressed about
Chris Perry's move to Spurs with some quarters
hinting that Egil Olsen may want the player to
stay, having said that Neil Sullivan will be the
only player leaving this summer. However, where
he will go is becoming a mystery with Liverpool,
Manchester United and Aston Villa all having new
keepers, his options for a move are somewhat
limited.
- Jose Dominguez has said that when he
got the chance to play for the first team, he did
well at the end of last season and is happy to
stay at Tottenham.

net concerning Argentine defender Mauricio
Pochettino, who is going to leave his club
Espanyol at the end of the season. He has offers

Standard says "Arsenal to Force Anelka
Probe". No further comment required, surely
!!!
17.6.99

Israeli midfielder Eyal Berkovic from West Ham
United. The player who has been linked with Spurs

Oyvind Leonhardsen from Liverpool. It is rumoured
that Spurs have upped their bid from £1.5
million to £2.2 million, but that is their top

deal involving Ben Thatcher and the player
considering a link-up with his former national

happy with his form prior to his injury in the
Worthington Cup Final and hopes to carry on at
White Hart Lane despite the stick he has taken
from certain sections of the Spurs crowd.
- Moussa Saib's move to Auxerre is
trying to be resurrected by Tottenham in an
attempt to solve the players future. The deal hit
a last minute hitch and it is hoped that he will
soon be able to move on and Tottenham receive
some money to fund transfer deals before the
season begins.
- Ex Spurs full-back John Gorman has
quit the assistant manager's post at Ipswich
Town. He has immediately been linked with a
position at Carlisle United, another of his
former clubs.

- Non shock horror story of the day is
that the most expensive West Stand seat will cost
about £46 next season - a rise of £8.
- Conflicting news on Ipswich and
England Under-21 midfielder Kieron Dyer is being
circulated. Just days after claiming he would
love to play for his idol, Ruud Gullitt, at
Newcastle United, Dyer's agent has said he would
jump at the chance of playing for Tottenham as he
would like to live near the capital city. Nice to
see the £7.5 million rated player has the right
reasons for moving to Spurs then !!
15.6.99
- Spurs forward wish list is
shortening by the day as Norwegian Rune Lange and
Norwich City's Craig Bellamy will most probably
not be joining the club. Lange appears to be
coming to England, but Arsenal are favourites to
sign the £4 million rated Tromso and Norway

London ground is required and Spurs home ground might fit the bill.
- George Graham returns from a summer
holiday in the next few days hoping to add three
more players to the Tottenham squad before the
start of the season. His first decision will be

bid £6 million for, but would not want to go too
much higher for.
- Rumours about the Japanese
midfielder Nakata are circulating allegedly
originating from papers in Italy, where he is
playing for Perugia. The fee has been mentioned

fabrication of the Italian media, as we all know
Tottenham have only £20 million to spend in
total !!!

Benito Carbone for £5 million have arisen,
mainly because it is rumoured that he is wanting

Perry deal is completed, Graham will devote his
energies to securing Chris Sutton as the striker
the club desperately seeking.
12.6.99
- Milen Petkov is coming to England to
meet interested clubs as it is his desire to move

the player. David Pleat has denied the rumours
linking him to the club too.
- Martin O'Neill's decision to sign a

striker, Emile Heskey. It is thought that now the
Irish manager has committed his immediate future
to the Midlands club, the England forward may
choose to stay as well.
- Real Madrid have mentioned that Sol
Campbell is one of their top targets in the wake

that the Merseyside club will drop out of the

this month in a £5.5 million deal from Wimbledon
when he returns from his honeymoon. A fee has

thought to be a problem as he earns approximately
£2,000 a week at Wimbledon at present.
- Problems with his salary may halt
Moussa Saib's intended move to Auxerre.
- Chris Sutton's stock seems to have
fallen as Chelsea are allegedly negotiating a £9
million move for the Blackburn Rovers striker. It
appears that GG has given up the chase for the
former Norwich City forward to concentrate his
efforts on securing the signing of Emile Heskey.
- Milen Petkov, the rising young star
of Bulgarian football, has been the subject of a
reported £2.5 million bid from Tottenham

talented midfielder, who performed very well
against England yesterday and David Pleat was in
the city to cover the game for the BBC. Local

three year deal with Spurs. Other sides
interested in his signature are Sunderland and
those lurkers who don't need scouts because they
just tag onto whoever Tottenham are interested
in, Leeds United.

hopeful of being fit for pre-season training
after recovering from a foot operation to correct
an injury he obtained in the Worthington Cup
Final with Emile Heskey.
9.6.99
- Sol Campbell featured in England's
1-1 draw away to Bulgaria in a Euro 2000
qualifier today. Ian Walker and Tim Sherwood were
on the bench.
- A spurious link with Lee Dixon has
sprung up today. It is said that GG will take the
full-back to Tottenham as he sees his future
opportunities limited at Arsenal. This appears to
be somewhat of a red herring ( like Lee himself)
as Stephen Carr has made the place his own in the
Spurs side.
- Allan Nielsen played in Denmark's
2-0 win over Wales at Anfield in a Euro 2000
tonight.
- Stephen Carr played in the Republic
of Ireland's 1-0 win over Macedonia in a Euro

Tottenham in the UEFA Cup when they did not get
drawn out of the raffle for a place in the
competition through their final position in the

they have been pulled out for a plum tie in
Europe.
8.6.99
- The Mark Viduka rumour has been
dashed by his agent who said that the story came
from an old Scottish newspaper story that was two
months old and had been resurrected by the
Australian press.
- David Pleat has said that Tottenham
have had talks with Wimbledon about a move for
Chris Perry. Nothing will take place immediately
though, as the player is on honeymoon with his
new wife.
- Leicester City have made a last-gasp
bid to keep Emile Heskey at the club by offering
a four year deal worth £4 million, to try and
ward off a move to another Premier side. It is
thought that our constant transfer companions
Leeds United are also putting in a bid for the
big England Under 21 star.
- Tim Sherwood has been dropped for
the England match against Bulgaria in Sofia
tomorrow. It comes as Kevin Keegan plays three
forwards to try and ensure all out attack for the
team which desperately needs a win to keep hopes
of qualifying for the finals alive.
7.6.99
- Celtic's Mark Viduka has linked
himself (apparently) with a £5 million move to

club like Tottenham.

services.
- Robbie Keane has committed himself
to helping Wolverhampton Wanderers into the
Premier League, thus frustrating the many clubs
already there (including Spurs) who would like to
sign the teenager.
- The news coming out of Leicester is
that Emile Heskey's agent feels it is the best
time for his client to move on and as such, there
appears little chance that he would renegotiate
another contract at the Filbert Street club. The
race for his signature could find his price
pushed up, with Martin O'Neill saying that only
if a bid that was right for the player and the
club was received would he be allowed to go.
- Stephen Carr has been named in the
Republic of Ireland side to face Macedonia on
Wednesday in a Euro 2000 tie.
- Alon Mizrahi has emerged as a

player has said he would love to play in England,
specifically London. West Ham are also linked
with the forward.
6.6.99
- Stefan Schwarz has been linked with
a move to Spurs. Putting two and two together the
papers have indicated that he may be ready to
link up with George Graham again and he would be
able to leave Valencia for around £4 million. It
seems odd that this rumour has sprung up as
Tottenham are fairlyw ell catered for in this
role at the moment.
- Paolo Tramezzani, the forgotten man
of Tottenham Hotspur has apparently been
