  Michael Carrick played the whole of England's 3-2 win over Colombia in New York tonight, with Jermain Defoe being a second half substitute for Michael Owen.
  Marton Fulop made his full Hungarian debut tonight in a 1-2 defeat by France.  He came on at half time and kept a clean sheet for his country.
  Spurs have been quoted £6 million for Argentinian midfielder Andres D'Alessandro of German side Wolfburg, according to the Star.  Tottenham have been linked with the 24 year old player since he first emerged as an Under-21 player with a stunning appearance at Craven Cottage against England Under-21 in 2000.
  Paul Robinson confirmed in the London Evening Standard that his posterior cruciate ligament knee injury will be on the mend thanks to rest alone and there will be no need for an operation.  The Spurs keeper has been on holiday in Portugal and said that his knee brace is due to come off in a week's time, with his aim of being fit for the pre-season friendlies on target.  He said he might not be ready for the first friendly, but would be raring to go for the first game of the season.
  Robbo also revealed that he has been in talks with the club for three weeks about a new contract and because he feels he has improved as a keeper in the last year and had such a good time, he does not intend to walk way from the club.
  Tottenham are being linked with a move for Barcelona free agent Gerard.  The 26 year old midfielder has not lived up to his reputation when the Spanish club signed him from Valencia, but his destination is not yet settled, with Monaco catching his eye according to the Sky Sports website.
  The same source also indicates that Pedro Mendes might be heading back to Porto after "struggling to make an impression this season".

  Andy Reid played the first half for a Republic of Ireland XI in Jackie McNamara's testimonial at Celtic this afternoon, with Robbie Keane coming on at half-time and scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory.
  Further credence to Keane moving to Celtic came today when he described Gordon Strachan as the best manager he has played for, being someone who brings the best out of players.
  Spurs are being linked with Real Madrid's Portuguese winger Luis Figo, along with Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.  The 32 year old would cost £7 million and come with huge wage demands too.
  The Star claims that Charlton Athletic keeper Dean Kiely is heading for Old Trafford as back up for Paul Robinson, who will be moving from Tottenham.  Right !!
  Former Spurs youngster Ciaran Toner has been released by Lincoln City.

  OTHER NEWS ... West Ham United will be back in the Premier League next season after beating Preston North End 1-0 in the Championship play-off final at Cardiff, with ex-Spur Matthew Etherington setting up the goal for former Tottenham striker Bobby Zamora ...

  MEHSTG's spin story ... Striker Alan Smith has attacked Sven Goran Eriksson about not being in the original starting line-up for Saturday's match against the US.  Rumours that he was in a room by himself at the time have not been substantiated.
  MEHSTG's spin story 2 ... Sven Goran Eriksson banned his players from watching the Championship play-off final this afternoon, despite five of them having formerly having played for West Ham United.  The England coach said he did not need any more injuries from players who might split their sides watching the game.

  Spurs striker Robbie Keane has a new admirer - Celtic.  New manager Gordon Strachan sees the Republic of Ireland forward as a key first signing.
  The News of the World claims that Crystal Palace forward Andrew Johnson has pleaded with his relegated club to let him leave, with Spurs and Liverpool leading the chasing pack for his signature.
  On loan striker Mido has told his website that he is happy at Spurs and will use the next season to impress the Tottenham fans, then see if he will join permanently or return to AS Roma, following reports that he is going back to Egypt to sign for Zamalek.
  The Sunday People claim that Newcastle United have asked Spurs about the possibility of signing Frederic Kanoute.  The story claims that Tottenham will ask for Magpies midfielder Jermain Jenas to be part of any deal that takes the Mali striker to St. James' Park.
  Former Spurs youngsters Ian Hendon and Simon Clist have been offered new contracts at Barnet.
  Former Tottenham defender and assistant manager John Gorman has denied that he will be leaving the manager's post at Wycombe Wanderers to take up an assistant manager position at Celtic.

  OTHER NEWS ... Sheffield Wednesday will be playing their football in the Championship next season after beating Hartlepool United 4-2 after extra time in the League 1 play-off final at Cardiff this afternoon ...

  MEHSTG's spin story ... The Norwegian FA have claimed that the huge cost of re-building Wembley means that the FA are reluctant to play friendlies away from their new ground, as they need to recoup the cash.  An FA spokesman refuted this suggestion, saying that the funds were there to travel to away games and that the current England squad on tour in the USA were content to share one room in the Chicago Dime 'n' Dive motel (rooms $3 a night).

  The Daily Star claims that Alex Ferguson will make a £10 million bid for Paul Robinson as he searches for a first choice goalkeeper.  Most papers have him going after a number of goalies including Gianluigi Buffon and Shay Given.
  Newcastle United are keen to buy Robbie Keane from Spurs ahead of Everton's proposed interest in the Republic of Ireland forward.  A fee of around £5 million has been quoted in the Daily Mirror.
  Michael Carrick played for England in their 2-1 win over the US in Chicago tonight.  Jermain Defoe came on as a substitute in the match.  It was very pleasing to see how many St. George flags there were with THFC on them too.
  Sky Sports website claims Spurs are interested in Sporting Lisbon striker Rodolph Douala.  A fee of 6 million Euros is said to have been rumoured for the 26 year old Cameroon international.
  Former Spurs reserve defender Kevin Maher and midfielder Mark Gower won promotion to League 1 this afternoon by helping Southend United beat Lincoln City 2-0 in the League 2 play-off at Cardiff.  Former Spurs reserves Alan Marriott and Peter Gain were in the Lincoln side.

  Spurs are supposed to have put a £7.5 million offer to Crystal Palace for Wayne Routledge and striker Andy Johnson.  Chairman Simon Jordan has dismissed it out of hand saying that they would want more than £10 million for the pair of players.  Birmingham City chairman David Sullivan is threatening legal action against Jordan for his comments about the Midlands club's interest in Johnson.
  This adds some spice to the rumour that Robbie Keane might be moving on this summer, if Spurs are actively on the look out for new forwards.
  Another of Tottenham's transfer targets, Pius Ikedia of Ajax, has pledged his future to AZ Alkmaar, as he has been there on loan and the Amsterdam club will not be offering him a deal.

  OTHER NEWS ... An opportunity to win the Olympic Games in 2012 might see a GB side fielded in the Games for the first time for about 50 years  ...

  Simon Davies has completed a £3.5 million move to Everton with £500,000 to come based on appearances.
  Reserve players Lee Barnard and Kieran McKenna have signed new contracts at Spurs.  Barnard's deal is for one year, while McKenna's is for two.
  Some sources reported that Wayne Routledge had signed a pre-contract agreement for Spurs to sign him.  However, this was later denied by Crystal Palace, who stated that he was still their player (but not for long, eh !!).
  Former Spurs youth defender Des Walker has joined the coaching staff at Manchester City.

  Martin Jol will look at new arrival Tom Huddlestone in pre-season training before deciding if he will go back to Derby County for a season long loan.  The Spurs Head Coach will come to the view of whether he needs another season in the Championship or whether he would be better off playing with Tottenham Hotspur.
  The London Evening Standard claims that Spurs have agreed to sign Wayne Routledge at the end of next month, when he becomes a free agent.  As he is just 20, Spurs will have to pay a "development" fee, but this could be as little as half the £2.5 million Crystal Palace were demanding before talks over the amount to be paid broke down.  A tribunal will sit to fix a price for the England Under-21 winger.
  The Sun claim that Martin Jol is tracking Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi, with Robbie Keane making his way North-East as part of the deal.
  Sven Goran Eriksson has intimated that he intends to play Michael Carrick in the first game of England's tour to the USA.
  On of the alleged Spurs transfer targets - West Bromwich Albion's Hungarian midfielder Zoltan Gera - has said he wants to stay at the Hawthorns.
  Season ticket holders have until Friday to renew their seats.

  OTHER NEWS ... Liverpool win the Champions League Final 3-2 on a penalty shoot out after the game finished 3-3 after normal and extra time, having been 0-3 down at half-time ...   Spurs are said to be ready to vie with Everton for the services of Chelsea midfielder Scott Parker.  Everton are believed to be ready to offer £6 million for the former Charlton Athletic midfield man, with Spurs supposedly preparing a £4 million bid.  Birmingham City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are all supposedly in the chase for the player who was an England international a year ago.
  Tottenham are also being strongly linked with a £4 million move for Jan Venegoor of Hesselink - the PSV Eindhoven striker.  However other sources report that the player is discussing a new contract with his club.
  Simon Davies was in Liverpool today completing a medical with Everton ahead of completing his move to the Toffees.  Peterborough United are hoping for £500,000 from the sell-on clause inserted into the deal that brought him to White Hart Lane from London Road back in 2000.
  Former transfer target Rafael van der Vaart has moved form Ajax to Hamburg on a four year deal.

  According to the London Evening Standard, Everton will not stop at signing Simon Davies from Spurs.  The anti-Tottenham newspaper claims that David Moyes is targeting striker Robbie Keane and also midfielder Sean Davis.
  Spurs transfer target England midfielder Owen Hargreaves looks set to stay at Bayern Munich and see out the final year of his contract.

  OTHER NEWS ... Lennie Lawrence has been moved upstairs for at least six months at Cardiff after relinquishing the manager's role at the Welsh club ...

  The People run the Jermaine Jenas story with the swap element involving Robbie Keane making the deal worth £9 million.
  Middlesbrough's Dutch winger Boudewijn Zenden is a target for Martin Jol according to the Sunday Express.
  The News of the World has indicated that Robert Green could leave Norwich City to maintain his place in the England squad, with Spurs rumoured to be interested.
  Crystal Palace's contract offer to Wayne Routledge has been rejected by the winger, making Spurs, Birmingham City and Aston Villa all likely destinations for the20 year old according to the People.
  The Sunday Express claims that Spurs might sell midfielder Michael Brown to his former club, Manchester City.
  Jermain Defoe is targeting the goals next season to make him top league goal-scorer, which will boost his chances of being in the England team for the World Cup finals in Germany in 2006.
  Former Spurs defender Mark Stimson today managed Grays Athletic to the FA Trophy, after a 6-5 penalty shoot-out win following a 1-1 draw after extra time.

  Spurs are rumoured to be wanting a part exchange deal with Newcastle United should they let Robbie Keane join the North-East club.  The Times reckons Tottenham will ask for Jermaine Jenas if Keano leave for the Magpies.
  Tom Huddlestone has been included in Peter Taylor's 20 man England squad for the Toulon Under-20 tournament.
  Clyde have appointed former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts as their new manager.
  Former Spurs defender Luke Young has been called into the England touring squad to replace Gary Neville, who has withdrawn with injury.

  The Spurs official website has announced that the club have agreed a £4 million deal for Simon Davies to transfer to Everton.
  With this news, along with Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan's comments that winger Wayne Routledge wants to leave the relegated club, it looks like he may make the long rumoured move to White Hart Lane.
  Spurs beat the Mauritius national team 2-0 in the Anjalay Stadium in Belle Vue Mauricia this afternoon.  The goals were scored by Robbie Keane and Lee Barnard.
  Spurs transfer target midfielder Zoltan Gera of West Bromwich Albion has been priced at £20 million by his club, the Mirror reckons today.
  Lens striker John Utaka, a Nigerian international, is being watched by Tottenham and Birmingham City, Sky Sports website reports.
  Sky Sports also claim that midfield creator Juan Roman Riquelme will not be coming to Tottenham, as he does not want to move country again.  The Argentinian has spoken of wanting to stay at Villareal if Barcelona do not want to keep him.
  Former Fulham defender Abdeslam Ouaddou has snubbed a move to Tottenham to stay with French side Rennes.
  Another player that Spurs have been associated with in the rumour pages of the newspapers, goalkeeper Francesc Arnau of Malaga, has signed a new four year deal with the La Liga club.
  Former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham has been reported to have turned down the chance to manage Millwall, according to the Sun.
  Wolverhampton Wanderers are to open talks with Rohan Ricketts, the midfielder recently released by Spurs.

  Rumours of Wayne Routledge of Crystal Palace moving to Tottenham when his contract runs out in June have been reported in the Daily Mirror and the Daily Mail.
  Spurs are looking to give goalkeeper Paul Robinson a pay rise to stop the rumours linking him with a move away from White Hart Lane.

  Spurs have finished second in the Premier League Fair Play table behind Arsenal.  Therefore, if England come out of the draw for two out of six countries to be represented through the Fair Play league on June 5th at half time in the England women's international, Spurs will be the club to progress as Arsenal have already qualified for Europe.
  Sky Sports website claims that Spurs and Aston Villa are battling to sign West Bromwich Albion's Hungarian midfielder Zoltan Gera.
  Transfer target PSV Eindhoven midfielder Mark van Bommel has signed a three year deal with Barcelona.
  If any of you are a keen women's footballer or have a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece or any other female relative who is, perhaps they would like to try out for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies FC.  Th
e club are holding trials on the Sunday 26th and Wednesday 29th June and Sunday 3rd and Wednesday 6th July (Sunday 10.30 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.; Wednesday 7.00 - 8.30 p.m.) for all players that may be interested in joining the junior section of the club (Under-10 to Under-15).  The trials will be held at Frederick Knights Sports Ground, Willoughby Lane Tottenham N17.  
Senior (15 and older) trials dates are Sunday 5th and Sunday 12th June 2005 between 10.00 a.m. - 13.00 p.m. for all players that may be interested in joining the club.

  Wayne Routledge's long rumoured move to Tottenham will take place when his Crystal Palace contract expires later this month and a fee of £2 million is being quoted, according to the Daily Mirror and Football 365 and significantly less than that amount which was offered back in January, if you believe the London Evening Standard.
  The London Evening Standard claims that the club will also make a move for 17 year old Aaron Lennon of Leeds United and with the two wide men coming in, this will pave the way for Simon Davies to move on to Everton.  However, Frank Arnesen is quoted as saying that if Davies is content to stay, he will be welcome to do so.
  Spurs are being linked in the Daily Mirror with a swoop for Argentine midfielder Andres D'Alessandro, who they have been rumoured to be signing for about five years.  The Wolfsburg creative play-maker is also attracting interest from Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton and Middlesbrough.
  Michael Dawson has missed out on a call-up to the England squad travelling on tour to the USA after the season because of a calf injury.  The Spurs defender had been on stand-by and Matthew Upson has dropped out of the squad because of injury, but Sven Goran Eriksson has selected Zat Knight to take the trip.
  The squad flew out to Mauritius today for an end of season tour, playing one game against the national side on .
  Former Spurs defender Richard Gough is set to leave Livingston as manager ay the end of the season.

  OTHER NEWS ... Hartlepool United reached the League One play-off by losing 0-2 to Tranmere Rovers on the night making it 2-2 on aggregate, but they got through 6-5 on penalties ... David Noyes has won the League Managers Association Manager of the Year award ... 

  MEHSTG's no-spin story ... Graeme Souness has said that Craig Bellamy will never play for him at Newcastle United again.  Funny that, because when he was there, Souness didn't go out of his way to make the best of the Welsh forward's talents anyway.

  Spurs have signed Paul Stalteri, a Canadian international full-back, from Werder Bremen, where he was part of the team that did the German double in 2003-04.  The 27 year old can also play in midfield and has 50 caps for his country.  The player said on his website, "I am pleased to be joining Tottenham.  Coach Martin Jol and Sporting Director Frank Arnesen are working hard to build a strong squad, and from the moment they expressed interest I realized that the club is dedicated to building a winning team.  I am delighted to be moving to London and I look forward to the challenge of joining a top club such as Tottenham.  I think they have a great young team with a lot of potential and I am confident that we have a bright future together."  Stalteri revealed that he turned down a number of other clubs, as his preference was to come to Tottenham and the Premier League.
  Meanwhile, Tottenham have announced they are releasing former first team midfielder Rohan Ricketts, who is expected to join Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he enjoyed a lengthy loan spell at the end of this season.
  Ricketts has been joined in being released by reserves central defender Paul O'Donoghue, goalkeeper Nicky Eyre, striker Michael Malcolm and midfielder Owen Price.
  Czech midfielder David Limbersky, who was on a six month loan to Spurs from Viktoria Plzen, has returned to his home country.
  Martin Jol has welcomed Paul Robinson's comments pre-match yesterday about discussing a new contract as he is happy at the club and does not want to leave.  Jol said that he believes that the England keeper is content at Tottenham and will still be at the club next season, stating that Robbo is "not even thinking about going leaving." 
  The draw for the UEFA Cup place through the Fair Play league will take place at half time in the England women's European Championship match against Finland at Manchester City's City of Manchester stadium on June 5th.
  Former Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle has signed a one year rolling contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
  Harry Redknapp has said his son, former Spurs midfielder Jamie Redknapp, could follow him into management rather than play on and risk being crippled for life.  The SCBC manager revealed that Jamie had been offered a post as Martin Jol's "right hand man" before he decided to go to the now relegated side to continue playing.

  The Sun and the Daily Mirror both claim that Martin Jol is keen to bring Leeds United's young winger Aaron Lennon to White Hart Lane, with the Mirror claiming a £1.4 million deal has been agreed for the 18 year old.
  Frank Arnesen has rejected an offer to go to Valencia in a similar role to the one he holds at White Hart Lane and oversee the restructuring of their backroom staff for "personal" reasons.

  Michael Carrick has been called into the England squad for the tour to the USA along with team-mate Jermain Defoe.  Also in the squad is former Spurs reserve striker Peter Crouch.
  Don't forget that there is a campaign for all Spurs fans attending the match on Sunday to wear white to show their support for the team.  If you have a white Spurs shirt or be it a white T-shirt, wear it to the game and we will see a white wall when the sides run out.
  Former Spurs keeper Kasey Keller has said that he is not leaving Borussia Moenchengladbach.
  The London Evening Standard reports that Spurs' interest in West Bromwich Albion's Hungarian midfielder Zoltan Gera might have been unnecessary had Spurs followed up the recommendation of former Director of Football David Pleat just before he left the club.

  Tottenham are supposedly in the hunt for Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell according to Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric in the London Evening Standard.
  The drop-out rate from the England squad heading for the post-season tour of the US means that places could be up for grabs and Michael Carrick and Michael Dawson are two Spurs names that have been mentioned as possible surprise inclusions in Sven Goran Eriksson's travelling group.
  The Daily Mirror claim that Everton are going out to buy a few players this summer, including Robbie Keane and Simon Davies.
  Sky Sports website runs a story that Tottenham are to bid for 26 year old Argentinian midfielder Aldo Duscher, notable for being the player who broke David Beckham's metatarsal when playing for his side Deportivo La Coruna.
  Rohan Ricketts has returned to Spurs after his loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers, which he enjoyed greatly.

  The London Evening Standard reports that Noureddine Naybet is considering a move to Qatar after losing his regular place in the Tottenham side  Michael Dawson.
  To replace him, Spurs are being linked with
Rennes' Moroccan (and ex-Fulham) defender Abdeslam Ouaddou.  The 27-year-old claims he has had contact with Spurs, but he will make his decision on his future at the end of the season.
  Wigan Athletic are targeting Spurs midfielder Michael Brown for their summer spending.
  Internazionale's Dutch winger Andy van der Meyde has aid he would consider a move to England and was quoted as saying that Everton, Middlesbrough or Spurs would be suitable clubs for him to play at.

  OTHER NEWS ... Chelsea's 3-1 win over Man U tonight gave them the record number of points in the Premier League in one season and the record number of wins in a Premiership season ...

  Sir Alex Ferguson is tipping Tottenham to challenge the top four of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool next season.
  Sheffield United are the latest club to show an interest in taking Rohan Rickets from White Hart Lane.  They join Wolverhampton Wanderers, Reading and Leeds United in watching the 22 year old Spurs midfielder's situation, as his contract comes to an end and with no news on a new deal at Tottenham.

  Tottenham are alleged to be ready to make a £3 million bid for Chelsea's Alexei Smertin.  The 30 year old Russian midfielder looks set to leave the West London club and Spurs would even consider a year long loan for the player who was on loan earlier this season at Portsmouth.
  Spurs may be about to re-sign Ian Walker, who is being released by Leicester City.  The former Spurs goalkeeper is said to have had talks with Martin Jol about returning to the Lane as cover for Paul Robinson, so says a story in the News of the World.

  Tottenham are being linked with a move for Internazionale stars midfielder Emre Belozoglu and forward Obefemi Martins, according to the Sky Sports website.  The Italian press is reckoned to have heard that offers have been made for the pair, but Emre is more likely to leave than Martins, who might fetch up to £20 million.  The Turkish midfielder could leave for around £9 million and Spurs might face competition for his services from Everton and Arsenal.

  Martin Jol is ready to sign an improved three year deal with Tottenham worth a reported £1 million a year.  The paperwork is prepared and it is only waiting for Daniel Levy to return from a business trip for the formalities to be completed, according tot he London Evening Standard.
  Hamburg are supposed to be interested in signing Thimothee Atouba, who they describe as an interesting player, who they have watched for two years, so say the Sky Sports website.  
  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Knee ligament victim Paul Robinson will be replaced by Radek Cerny, who will make his first start in the first team.  Apart from the long term injuries, Spurs will be missing Anthony Gardner (foot) is out as are Noureddine Naybet (hamstring), Thimothee Atouba (ankle), Michael Brown (foot) in addition.
  MIDDLESBROUGH TEAM NEWS : -
Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer returns from a back injury and Colin Cooper, Michael Reiziger, Stuart Parnaby, Tony McMahon and James Morrison are all fit again.
  Spurs have released Australian youngster Spase Dilevski, after just 19 reserve appearances and one goal.  The 19 year old has returned to his homeland.
  England Under-17s Leigh Mills and David Button ended up on the end of a 2-3 defeat by Turkey in the European Championships in Italy today.
  Former Spurs keeper Ian Walker is to be released by Leicester City.  Another ex-Tottenham keeper at the Midlands club - Lars Hirschfeld - will know next week whether he has a future at the cash-strapped club.

  Contrary to Monday's news, Paul Robinson will play no further part of this season after a scan revealed knee ligament damage after his collision with Darius Vassell in Sunday's game against Aston Villa.
  Thus Spurs have recalled keeper Marton Fulop from Chesterfield, where he was on loan, as cover for Radek Cerny.
  The club's website feature by Dr. Charlotte Cowie revealed that Anthony Gardner will not need an operation on his foot.
  Further to yesterday's rumour about the signing of Daniel De Ridder from Ajax, the club have confirmed that they will let him leave, but only on a one year loan, as they recognise him as one of Europe's biggest talents and want to keep him for themselves (i.e. to sell for big bucks at a later stage).  Meanwhile, his agent said that Tottenham had been in touch with him, but it was back in January.
  Liverpool, Tottenham and Bolton are all said to be interested in Racing Santander's Israeli midfielder Yossi Benayoun.
  Spurs will be showing Saturday's match at Middlesbrough on the Videotron at White Hart Lane.  Adults will be charged £5 and children £2, with access to the screening by going to the South Upper turnstiles at the Park Lane end.
  The Sky Sports website claims that Reading and Leeds United will be challenging Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Rohan Ricketts, who looks set to be part of the clear out at the club this summer.
  Spurs Under-18s beat Chelsea 1-0 to finish their season on a high note thanks to a Radwan Hamed header.
  The future of White Hart Lane has been at the centre of a local row in today's General Election.  Opposition parties are claiming that Tottenham's Labour MP David Lammy had not been supporting the improvement to the transport system and the expansion of the ground.  Lammy denied this and both the Liberal Democrat and Conservative candidates said it would be a tragedy if the club left the area.

  The Sun reports that Spurs have agreed a £2.5million fee with Ajax for rising young star Daniel De Ridder and although they claim the club have not finalised personal terms they are favourites to land the 21 year old winger.  The player is tall, strong and has skill in abundance, as he showed in the Under-21 international against England recently.  For a glimpse of him in action, visit http://www.danielderidder.now.nu.  not all the links work, but the videos give an idea of what he is about and if the signing comes off, Frank and Martin will have brought another talented young player to the club.
  The Independent falls back on the old favourite of Everton watching Simon Davies' situation at Spurs.
  Defender Leigh Mills and goalkeeper David Button played for England Under-17s in Italy where they beat Belarus 4-0 in the European Champions.
  Head of Youth Scouting John Moncur has left the club after 25 years as part of the shake-up in the youth and back-room set-up.

  Anthony Gardner fears he may have to undergo an operation on his foot to put right the problems he has been experiencing this season.  The Tottenham defender has been playing with the injury since October, as the club had few options (King and Naybet) and could not bring anyone in until January.

Liverpool knocked Chelsea out fo the Champions League in their semi-final second leg tonight - winning 1-0 on the night and on aggregate ...   Paul Robinson's availability for the final two Spurs games of the season has been confirmed, as the scan that he had after the game yesterday showed he only had a dead leg with no lasting damage done.
  Spurs and Birmingham City are looking at Gimnastico Tarragona midfielder Abel Buades.  The Spanish Second Division side have money troubles and might relish bringing in some cash for the player, who is 28 years old and scored in a match that Spurs had a scout at.

  The Daily Star reckons Spurs will make a summer bid for Portsmouth winger Lomano Lua Lua.
  In the same paper there is a story claiming that Sunderland Mick McCarthy wants to sign striker Robbie Keane.
  Spurs are keen to sign Chelsea defender Glen Johnson according to the News of the World.  To fund his transfer, with bidding said to be starting at £4 million, they have already agreed to sell Simon Davies to Everton for £5 million, or so the newspaper states.
  The News of the World also runs a story claiming Spurs will offer two youngsters from Portuguese Second Division side Freamunde trials at the club.  Defender Antunes and midfielder Andre Leao are said to be flying in for a week long stay at the club to allow the management to look at them.
