   Tom Huddlestone played the whole of the England Under-21s 0-2 friendly defeat by France at Nottingham Forest tonight.  Fraizer Campbell came on as a substitute in the 60th minute and Jamie O'Hara five minutes from the end of the game.  Meanwhile, Dorian Dervite starred for the French side.
   Jon Obika scored again for Yeovil Town, as they beat Northampton Town and moved out of the relegation places in League One.
   Adel Taarabt scored his first goal for Morocco
in their 2-0 friendly win over Angola in Portugal tonight.
  
David Button played the first half of the England Under-20 friendly 2-0 victory against Italy.
  
Oscar Jansson played in Sweden Under-21s game against  Belgium, which ended in a 3-1 win for the Scandinavian side.

   Spurs Reserves beat Aston Villa 2-1 tonight at Leyton Orient FC thanks to two penalties scored by Ryan Mason and Jacques Maghoma.
  
John Bostock played the first half of the England Under-17 European Championship Elite qualifying group match 2-0 win against host country Hungary tonight.

   Spurs are said to be set, along with Liverpool, to spend £15 million on winger Stewart Downing, who Middlesbrough are ready to sell should they get relegated at the end of the season it says in the News of the World.
   If they manage to avoid relegation, Newcastle United are convinced they will be able to buy Tom Huddlestone from Spurs for £6 million the same paper reports.
  
Once more in the NoTW, the run a story saying that Real Murcia's 18 year old striker Daniel Aquino is a target for Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham.
   30 year old Real Madrid and ex-Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze is supposedly a £4 million summer transfer target for Spurs according to the Sunday People.
   The People also claim that Harry Redknapp is looking at Almeria striker Alvaro Negredo, who has scored half of his club's goals this season, but is expected to quit
the La Liga side in the summer.

   Darren Bent has been called into the England squad for the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Wednesday, after three strikers took knocks in today's 3-0 friendly win against Slovakia at Wembley, in which Aaron Lennon played the first half.
   Gareth Bale and Chris Gunter played in Wales' 0-2 World Cup qualifier defeat at the hands of Finland in the Millennium stadium in Cardiff today.
   Russia beat Azerbaijan 2-0, with Roman Pavlyuchenko scoring one of the goals and being substituted after 72 minutes
.
   Robbie Keane captained the Republic of Ireland in their 1-1 World Cup qualifying match against Bulgaria at Croke Park, Dublin tonight.
  
Scotland's 0-3 World Cup qualifying defeat by Holland in Amsterdam tonight, saw Alan Hutton make an appearance as a 73rd substitute.
  
Cameroon lost a World Cup qualifier in Togo 0-1 today and Benoit Assou-Ekotto played the whole game for the Indomitable Lions.
   Adel Taarabt made a 57th substitute appearance for Morocco in their 0-2 World Cup qualifying defeat by Gabon today.
  
Spurs and Manchester City are watching the Italy and Real Madrid central defender Fabio Cannavaro, as his contract expires with the La Liga club in the summer, however, his agent said he did not want to leave the Bernabeu.

   Reserve defender Yuri Berchiche and midfielder David Hutton have joined Cheltenham Town on loan for a one month spell.
   Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink has urged the club to make a move for Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko in the summer transfer window.
  
The Daily Mail report that Tom Huddlestone's concerns about his future at the club have put Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle United on standby, should he be allowed to leave.
   A number of sources report that Gareth Bale is having extra training with assistant manager Kevin Bond on how to improve as a defender

The Genoa president has offered Spurs the ear of striker Diego Milito for £10 million.
   Spurs might save £40 million in the building
of their new stadium because of the downturn in the economy and the drastic lack of work available to the building trade.  The costs of cement and steel has also dropped, thus contributing to the saving Tottenham might make when the new ground is constructed.

   Sky Sports website claims that Tottenham, as well as Manchester United, Everton, Chelsea and at least another three Premier League clubs are interested in Sporting Lisbon's 16 year old midfielder Afonso Taira.
   The Daily Mirror claims that Hamburg manager Martin Jol intends to make a bid for reserve Congolese Under-21 striker Jacques Maghoma.
   Jon Obika made his England Under-19 debut against the Czech Republic
at Walsall in a 0-0 draw tonight.
  
Youth team midfielder John Bostock featured for England Under-17s against Portugal in the 1-0 European Championship qualifier in Hungary.

   Ledley King has left the England training camp after a decision was made not to play him in the England friendly at the weekend or the World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on 1st April.  Earlier in the day, newspapers ran stories about Harry Redknapp criticising the England management for calling King into the squad and the Daily Star claimed that King was not happy either, saying he would retire from international football to save his club career.
   Reserve winger Danny Rose had joined Watford on loan until the end of the season.
  
Former Spurs defender Anthony Gardner of Hull City will be out for the rest of the season having broken four vertebrae in his back in the FA Cup game against Arsenal recently.

   In The Sun, Harry Redknapp has denied that he is about to launch bids for Scottish player Scott Brown and Aiden McGeady (Celtic) and Pedro Mendes (Glasgow Rangers), but is interested in the Rangers youngster Daniel Wilson.
   Redknapp is also keeping tabs on Genoa's Argentinian striker Diego Milito after taking in the Italian club's match against Udinese at the weekend.  Central defender Domineco Criscito was also impressive in the 2-0 Genoa win.
   Swiss international striker Alexander Frei has been linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund to Tottenham, although Paris St. Germain and
Napoli are also interested in the 29 year old forward.
   Spurs Reserves won 2-1 at West Bromwich Albion tonight, with goals from Gilberto and Pascal ChimbondaAlan Hutton played 70 minutes of the game on his return to match action.

   Ledley King and Aaron Lennon have been included in the England squad for the friendly against Slovakia and the World Cup qualifying match against Ukraine next week.
   Spurs are set to sign Stewart Downing in the summer from Middlesbrough for £15 million according to the Sunday Express.
   The Sunday Mirror reckons that Manchester City will save David Bentley from his White Hart Lane nightmare in the summer if Mark Hughes is still manager.  Bentley is said to be willing to team up with his former Blackburn Rovers boss at Eastlands.
  
In the Sunday People, they claim that Spurs may return to Sunderland in the summer with a £15 million bid for striker Kenwyne Jones and this time the Black Cats might be willing to do business rather than complain about being offered a huge amount of money for an above average forward.
  
Harry Redknapp is supposedly still keeping tabs on Barcelona's teenage striker Bojan Krkic it says in the Daily Star Sunday.
   And the same paper carried an odd one in linking us to a £1 million move for Rochdale forward Will Buckley.

   Spurs beat Chelsea 1-0 at White Hart Lane this afternoon.  Click here for a match report and here for reaction.
  
The game's kick-off was delayed for 30 minutes by a mini-bus which was parked in the Park Lane close to the South Stand and Police were concerned there may be suspect packages in it.
   The Daily Express claims that Spurs might struggle to keep Aaron Lennon in the summer if Liverpool come in for him, even thought he winger has just signed a contract extension at White Hart Lane.
  
Spurs midfielder Wilson Palacios has been included in the Honduras squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago.
  
Spurs midfielder Giovani Dos Santos has been included in the Mexico squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Honduras and Costa Rica.
   Tottenham's Academy side defeated Chelsea's Under-18s 5-0 this morning

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs are still without foot injury victims Alan Hutton and Jermain Defoe, but everyone else is available for the visit of Chelsea.
   CHELSEA TEAM NEWS : -  Joe Cole (knee), Deco (hamstring) and Paolo Ferreira (knee) all miss out, while Nicolas Anelka's toe injury and Didier Drogba's injury should both clear up to allow them to take part.

Winger Aaron Lennon has signed a new five year deal to stay with Tottenham until 2014.  Earlier in the day he had been linked with interest from Liverpool, who were rumoured to be ready to make a move for him in the summer.
   The Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies, who Spurs have been linked with, is being priced at £4 million by the League One club.
   The Times claims that Tottenham Hotspur plc might issue new shares to raise finance for the building of the club's proposed new stadium.
   The Daily Record claims that Alan Hutton has said he will be fit for Scotland's World Cup qualifier in Holland in two weeks time, while the Scottish Sun reckons manager George Burley has told Harry Redknapp that the full back will not play.
  
German Under-21 international Kevin Prince Boateng has denied allegations that he was involved in an incident in Berlin where cars were damaged.
   The away game at Blackburn Rovers will stay at a 12:45 kick off on Saturday 4th April at Ewood Park, but the home match against Newcastle United has been moved from Saturday 18th April to a 1:30 p.m. kick off on Sunday 19th April.

   Tottenham Hotspur plc have announced the six monthly results which showed a revenue increase to £54.9 million and an overall large operational profit, mainly as a result of player trading in the summer transfer window.  The report also revealed that work is starting on the new training ground and Academy at Myddleton Hall in Enfield and the planning application for the new ground and surrounding are development will be submitted to Haringey Council in the coming months.
   The England Under-21 squad for the March friendlies against Norway and France contains three Spurs players - Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone and Fraizer Campbell.

   According to the Daily Mirror, Jermaine Jenas is still a transfer target for Jose Mourinho and Internazionale this summer.
   Spurs are set to join Aston Villa, Manchester City and Fulham in their interest in Sheffield United youngster Kyle Naughton in the summer transfer window.
  
Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric are both in the Croatia squad for their World Cup qualifier against Andorra on 1st April.

   The Sun claims that Russian striker Roman Pavyluchenko might not have much of a future at Spurs, after being "demoted" to play in the reserves last night.  Which must mean the same for a large number of those who didn't feature on Sunday, but were given a run out to keep them match fit.
   Spurs are among a number of clubs interested in 27 year old Le Mans keeper Yohann Pele, who will be out of contract this summer.
  
Defender Alan Hutton is in the Scotland squad for their up-coming World Cup qualifiers against Holland and Iceland.

   A strong Spurs Reserves side beat Chelsea reserves 4-0 at Leyton Orient FC tonight with goals from Fraizer Campbell 2 (1 penalty), Pascal Chimbonda and Tom HuddlestoneRoman Pavlyuchenko missed a penalty too.
   Please note for anyone travelling to the game, that the Victoria underground Line will be totally closed on Saturday when Spurs are at home to Chelsea.

  MEHSTG's spin story 2 ... Everton's Victor Anichebe's friend was handcuffed outside a Cheshire jewellers while with the Everton forward.  The Police said they were acting suspiciously.  Normally, in football, this is called goal-hanging.

   On loan midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng, has injured his knee and could be out for a month, thus limiting the chances of showing his worth in the Bundesliga, although Borussia Dortmund think that a possible permanent deal for the German Under-21 international is unlikely, as Spurs price him too highly for them.
  
Former Spurs defender Erik Edman has returned some of the money he gained in a court case against Dutch Eredivise club Heerenveen.  The money was supposed to be part of the deal that took him to Tottenham, but it appears that Edman discovered he was wrong in claiming this money and the portion that he was granted has been paid back to Heerenveen.  The amount that passed to his agent has not been repaid, according to a story on TeamTalk.

   QPR are leading the way to sign Chris Gunter on loan, after Spurs said he could go out until the end of the season the Daily Mail reports, especially as Preston North End manager Alan Irvine has said he does not need a full back on loan at the moment.

   David Bentley would relish a move to Aston Villa in the summer the News of the World reports.
  
The Sunday Mirror runs a story that Harry Redknapp will go back to Portsmouth in the summer to try and sign striker Peter Crouch, goalkeeper David James and defender Glen Johnson.  To fund this the paper reckons there will be a clear out of players including Tom Huddlestone, Darren Bent, David Bentley, Heurelho Gomes and Gareth Bale.  Other players Redknapp is supposed to be interested in are Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole, Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing and Sunderland forward Kenwyne Jones.
   In The Sunday People, it claims that Tom Huddlestone
will be a summer target for SV Hamburg and Newcastle United, should Tottenham allow him to leave.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Ledley King might be available for the trip to Sunderland and also for the rest of the season ,as Spurs have no more midweek games scheduled and King could play after a week's gap between games.  Alan Hutton and Jermain Defoe are still out with foot injuries, but both may return to training soon.
  
SUNDERLAND TEAM NEWS : -  Nyron Nosworthy is recovering from a hamstring injury, so will not play and former Spurs midfielder Teemu Tainio is also ruled out with a knee injury.

   Ledley King wants a new contract at Tottenham, despite his persistent knee problems according to the Daily Star.  The Daily Mail claims that King said that he is happy to try and play as many games as he can at the moment and await the contract talks when the club are ready to talk.  Other sources reckon that it may come to a pay-as-you-play deal when an offer is made, but Harry Redknapp has said that he hopes the club captain will stay at White Hart Lane for a s long as possible.
  
The club are planning a summer clear-out it says in the Independent with David Bentley leading the exodus.  Others named as potential sales are Alan Hutton, Giovani Dos Santos, Jermaine Jenas, Darren Bent and Tom Huddlestone.  I can't help but think that some of those if they go will come back to haunt us.
   Harry Redknapp was quick to scotch talk of Bentley's departure, saying he has not been in the best of form and is not that confident, despite what people might think of him from his media image
.  Even though he said he was not confident of taking a penalty at Wembley, he said he would and with other players shying away from volunteering, you have to give him some credit for being brave enough to step up to the plate.
   After the recent run of fixtures, Tottenham asked the Premier League to postpone the game at Sunderland on Saturday, but their request was refused.  Sunderland had objected to the switch

Reserve midfielder Danny Hutchins has signed for Yeovil on a month's loan.
  
Reserve midfielder Kieran McKenna has had to retire from football on medical advice.
  
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Ledley King will be kept out of the Middlesbrough game and possibly the one on Saturday at Sunderland after his knee was swollen up following 120 minutes of the League Cup Final.  Jonathan Woodgate faces a late fitness test on his Achilles injury and Carlo Cudicini might be back following a knee knock.  Roman Pavyluchenko aggravated his groin injury and both Michael Dawson and Aaron Lennon suffered from bad cramp in extra time on Sunday.  Robbie Keane, Wilson Palacios and Pascal Chimbonda are all available after being cup-tied for the final, but Jermain Defoe and Alan Hutton are both ruled out after foot surgery.  Striker Fraizer Campbell is also in contention after not being allowed to play against his parent club in the Final on Sunday.

   Spurs lost to Manchester United in the League Cup final at Wembley this afternoon.  After a 0-0 draw after extra time, United won 4-1 on penalties.  For a match report, click here.  For reaction, click here.
   The News of the World claim that Harry Redknapp's overhaul of the squad in the summer will lead to the departure of Luka Modric to
either Juventus or Internazionale.
  
In the Sunday Mirror, they think that Redknapp will go back in with a £15 million bid for Middlesbrough winger Stewart Downing.
   Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni is linked with a summer move to Spurs, Fulham or Newcastle United as he has refused to sign a new deal with his Spanish club
