   The dates and kick off times for the UEFA Cup tie with SC Braga have finally been sorted out.  First up, the away leg will be played at the Estadio Municipal de Braga on Thursday 8th March with a 9.35 p.m. (local time and GMT) kick-off.  The home leg will take place on Wednesday 14th March, kicking off at 8.15 p.m.
   Viking FK of Norway are keeping an eye on reserve winger Emil Hallfredsson.

   Robbie Keane's appeal against the red card he was awarded on Sunday for deliberate handball has been thrown out and the Irish striker will now miss the game at Upton Park on Sunday.

   Tottenham are supposedly among a group of clubs including Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion who are watching Newcastle United's teenage  defender Paul Huntingdon, who is refusing to sign a new contract.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Tottenham could be without Anthony Gardner whose hip injury means that he will need a late fitness test and with Spurs being without Ledley King, with his broken foot keeping him out, Ricardo Rocha could come into the middle of the defence.  Mido's groin injury and Tom Huddlestone's hamstring are causing concern and full-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto is kept out with a knee knock.
   BOLTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -  Nicky Hunt and Abdoulaye Faye should return for the Trotters, but Kevin Davies is definitely out with a knee problem.

The fans of SC Braga are known as Arsenalistas (Ed. : - Nothing to do with their team wearing Arsenal's colours then ??) due to their never-say-die attitude. Many of Braga fans are known for their crazy antics such as throwing flares in the field to get their players pumped up. However, lately, they have been disappointing. In Braga's round of 32 match against Parma in the UEFA Cup, only 6,500 spectators were present, because the tickets cost too much money."

   Tottenham have taken Serie C1 side Novara's teenage goalkeeper Mirko Lamantia on trial until Sunday.  The goalkeeper will be 16 on 1st March and has already made his debut in Italian side's first team.  Another youngster playing in the Italian Serie B is Ghanaia midfielder Apimah Ahmed Barusson who plays for Rimini.  He is a target for many of the clubs in the topflight in Italy, but his agent said that Tottenham's representatives have been watching him recently.
   Spurs will play Sporting Braga of Portugal in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup - away on 8th March and at home in the second leg on 14th or 15th of March.

Steve Nash, a Canadian who plays for Phoenix Suns in the NBA is said to be interested in becoming a major investor in Spurs, who he had a trial for as a youngster, according to in a story in the Sun.

   Spurs have been chosen to feature in BBC's coverage of the FA Cup quarter final and will take to the field at 12.45 p.m. on Sunday 11th March.
   The Times claim that Tottenham are interested in Racing Santander's Serbian striker Nikola Zigic, who is 6'7" tall.

   CRIME WATCH ... Former Spurs midfielder Steve Sedgley and his wife were yesterday found guilty of racism in their absence in a Barbados court after an incident in 2004 when they ran a water sports business on the islands.  A warrant is out for their arrest and if they return to the island they will be arrested.  The pair are due to be formally sentenced when the bench convenes on 16th March.

   Tottenham have been drawn away to Chelsea in the Sixth Round on the FA Cup to be played on 10th or 11th March.
   Apparently Fulham's Zat Knight had to apologise to a section of the Craven Cottage crowd after getting involved in an altercation with them after yesterday's game.
  
The Reserves beat West Ham United 2-1 at Bishops Stortford FC tonight thanks to goals from Charlie Lee and Jake Livermore.
   Former Spurs goalkeeper Neil Sullivan is spending a second loan spell at Doncaster Rovers from Leeds United.

   Tottenham won 4-0 against Fulham in the FA Cup Fifth Round this afternoon at Craven Cottage.  For a match report, click here.
   Spurs are being reported to be ready to move with a £10 million bid for Lyon's 25 year old Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom, who the club have been linked with for some years now, according to the Sunday Mirror.  The same paper reckons that Spurs will make Wembley Stadium their temporary home while the expansion of White Hart Lane takes place.  The Sunday People run a story that Tottenham are set to make a move for Shrewsbury Town youngster Dave Edwards.

   15 year old left back Joakim Eyde of Valerenga hopes that his recent trial at Spurs earns him a move to White Hart Lane.

Fulham midfielder Michael Brown is suspended, but defender Carlos Bocanegra is back after a ban.  Wayne Routledge cannot lay under the terms of his loan to the Cottagers.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Jermaine Jenas and Jermain Defoe are both suspended for gathering five yellow cards this season, while Ledley King's broken foot rules him out.  Anthony Gardner, Ricardo Rocha, Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon are all available again after injury and illness.
  
Spurs Under-18s beat Watford in the FA Premier Academy League 2-1 at Spurs Lodge with goals from Chris Casey and David Hutton's penalty.

   Director Keith Mills has said the club must make a decision on the ground within a year to make sure they do not get left behind by the clubs with bigger stadia.  The club have been looking at alternatives as well as enlarging the White Hart Lane ground, but to realise their ambitions they might look at new sites for grounds to be built.

   Tottenham's reserve match against West Ham United due to be played on Tuesday 20th February has been moved forward to Monday 19th February.  The game will take place at Bishop's Stortford FC's Woodside Park ground with the kick off at being 7.00 p.m.
   The club have announced that the Park Lane ticket office is to move to the Paxton Road next to the Members Office.  There will be ticket collection windows in the Park Lane, but these will be for away fans only.

   Tottenham have been fined £8,000 for their part in the brawl that took place in the match against Middlesbrough at White Hart Lane in December.  £4,000 of the fine has been suspended for 12 months.  Boro received a £4,000 fine with £2,000 suspended for the same period.  Both clubs received a warning as to their future conduct.
   Spurs Reserves lost 0-4 to Reading at Stevenage Borough FC tonight.  No, not Reading Reserves, but Reading.  For a match report click here.
   The Daily Express says that Tottenham are confident of signing Nigel Reo-Coker in the summer.  Oh, no !!

   The Spurs Reserve match due to take place tonight at Broadhall Way Stevenage was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and will now take place tomorrow night (Tuesday 13th) with a 7.00 p.m. kick off at the same venue.
   The QPR chairman Gianni Paladini said that he turned down a transfer window offer from Tottenham for winger Lee Cook.

   Spurs are being linked with a £3.2 million move for Liverpool's injury-prone Australian international left sided midfielder Harry Kewell in the summer.  To add to the Aussie presence at the Lane, Spurs are also supposed to be considering bringing in Middlesbrough's striker Mark Viduka who will be out of contract in the summer.
   The Sunday Mirror report that if Spurs Director Paul Kemsley succeeds with his takeover at the club, he will install Harry Redknapp as the manager of the side.  Fit the revolving doors now then !!  The man behind the move to buy pout ENIC is property expert Kelmsley and he recently bought the former Midland Bank HQ building in Poultry, City of London for £40 million.  Five months later he sold it on for £72 million.
   Former Spurs manager Doug Livermore has left Norwich City where he had been assistant manager for seven and a half years.

   Illness struck to deny Tottenham two of their team today.  Tom Huddlestone was victim of a throat infection, while Aaron Lennon was hit by a recurrence of his stomach bug.  Anthony Gardner was also missing as he had a calf problem.

   Tottenham's bye through to the last 16 of the UEFA Cup was upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport today in Switzerland.  The CAS decided to back UEFA's ejection of Feyenoord from the competition, leaving Tottenham to progress without having to face the Dutch side.  Having dismissed the Feyenoord appeal, the organisation added a £40,000 fine for the Rotterdam club.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -
Jermaine Jenas and Teemu Tainio will return after overcoming ankle injuries and Aaron Lennon is better after his bout of gastritis.  Striker Mido is back from suspension, but his compatriot Hossam Ghaly is out after picking up five yellow cards.
   SHEFFIELD UNITED TEAM NEWS : -
 There will be a late fitness test for defender Rob Kozluk and new signing Ahmed Fathi is hoping to start.  United will be without Christian Nade (virus) and Keith Gillespie (suspended), while both Matt Kilgallon, Mikele Leighertwood and Luton Shelton are out with injuries.
   Prime Minister Tony Blair was at White Hart Lane to have a lunch to promote the NSPCC Full Stop campaign designed to put an end to child cruelty.

   Spurs feature at number 15 in the European top twenty richest clubs for 2005-06 with a turnover of £70.7 million.
   Aaron Lennon, Teemu Tainio and Jermaine Jenas could be fit to play for Tottenham at Sheffield United at the weekend. 
   Spurs are rumoured to be making a move for Everton's unwanted striker James Beattie in the summer, if he is available for a price considerably less than the £6 million the Merseyside club paid for him, according to the Daily Mirror.  The paper said that Mido was offered as part of a deal to complete the transfer in the January transfer window, but manager David Moyes would not entertain the deal.

   Jermain Defoe was a 70th minute substitute who came on in England's 0-1 defeat by Spain at Old Trafford.  Paul Robinson and Michael Dawson were unused subs.
   The Republic of Ireland's 2-1 win in San Marino featured Robbie Keane playing all 90 minutes of the Euro 2008 qualifier.
   Dimitar Berbatov scored twice in Bulgaria's 3-0 win over Cyprus in the Cyprus Tournament.
   Egypt's 2-0 win over Sweden in Cairo saw Mido play the first hour of the game.
   Cian Hughton made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-18s in their 0-0 draw with Holland and his Academy team-mate David Hutton played in the same side.

   Aaron Lennon is out of the England friendly against Spain at Old Trafford tomorrow night with a stomach bug and Paul Robinson, Michael Dawson and Jermain Defoe will not be in the starting eleven.  Jermaine Jenas had already pulled out with an injury.
   Tom Huddlestone played for England Under-21s in their 2-2 draw with Spain Under-21 at Pride Park tonight.  He was substituted in the 52nd minute.  Wayne Routledge and Ben Alnwick were on the bench, but not used.
   Kieran McKenna played for Northern Ireland Under-21s in their 0-4 defeat to the Welsh counterparts this afternoon. in Belfast
   Dimitar Berbatov played for Bulgaria in their Cyprus Tournament match 2-1 win against Latvia.
   A 1-0 friendly win for Ivory Coast over Guinea saw Didier Zokora play for the winning team.
   Playing at full back for the first half, Young-Pyo Lee starred for the South Korean side that beat Greece 1-0 at Craven Cottage tonight.
   Academy keeper David Button was stuck on the bench as England Under-19s beat Poland 4-1 at Bournemouth tonight.

   Tottenham may face sanctions by the FA over screening of the Ronaldo dive in yesterday's match on the Jumbotron screens at White Hart Lane.  Strangely, no action is to be taken against the perpetrator or the match officials.  Surprised ??  No, me neither.
   Tottenham's away game against Everton has been re-arranged for Wednesday 21st February.  If Spurs are involved in a UEFA Cup game on 22nd February, then the game will be moved to Wednesday 28th February, unless Tottenham are set to play a FA Cup Fifth Round replay that day !!
   Spurs and Manchester City are supposedly sending scouts to Germany to watch 24 year old Wolfsburg defender Alexander Madlung.

   Spurs lost 0-4 to Manchester United at White Hart Lane this afternoon.  Click here for a match report and here for reaction.
   Jermaine Jenas has dropped out of the England squad for the friendly against Spain.
   The News of the World carries a story about Edgar Davids' departure from White Hart Lane, saying that he challenged Martin Jol about what he had won in the game after the Head Coach criticised him for not marking properly in a training session.  An insider told the newspaper that the Dutch midfielder had previously had a row with Robbie Keane and offered to settle the matter outside, without realising that Keane had been an amateur boxer back in Ireland.  It took Keane one punch to flatten Davids and he was sheepish about taking on anyone else after that.
   The Daily Mirror report that the deal to bring 15 year old Dean Parrett could be worth up to £3 million if he realises his potential.  There has apparently been a £1 million down-payment with £2 million linked to clauses in the contract to take the England Under-16 midfielder to White Hart Lane.

   Ledley King is out of the picture for Spurs for the next two months.  A setback with his foot injury has seen the club having to treat it as a broken foot, even though they claim it isn't.
   The England squad for next week's friendly against Spain at Old Trafford contains five Spurs players - Paul Robinson, Michael Dawson, Jermaine Jenas, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe.
   Reports in today's papers claim that the fee for 15 year old Dean Parrett could rise to £2 million if the midfielder hits the heights as a player.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Mido is suspended for the game and Spurs will also be without Teemu Tainio who has a throat infection, while Ledley King will be missing too.  Dimitar Berbatov has a chance of playing and Jermaine Jenas should play despite getting a kick on the ankle on Wednesday.  Aaron Lennon will also be up for selection after being struck down by illness before the League Cup semi-final second leg.
   MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS : -  Having overcome a knee injury, Louis Saha will be trying to force his way back into the United side, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to keep his place in the side.

   Tottenham apparently failed in two late deadline day transfer deals.  A move to Manchester City for Mido fell through when the fee of £4.5 million was deemed too much by the North-West club, although Martin Jol said it was his decision to keep Mido after Dimitar Berbatov got injured and talks to bring Derby County's talented 19 year old Giles Barnes to White Hart Lane broke down, so no deal could be agreed with the club from the East Midlands.   
   Tom Huddlestone and goalkeeper Ben Alnwick are in the England Under-21 squad to face Spain's U21s on Tuesday 6th February at Derby County's Pride Park.  Wayne Routledge is also in the squad.
   Spurs have announced that they have signed exciting 15 year old prospect Dean Parrett from Queens Park Rangers.  The attacking midfielder will initially join the club as a student at the Academy, but in July 2008 will become a Academy scholar.  Spurs signed Parrett ahead of Chelsea, who were keen on having the youngster sign for them.
   Young reserve midfielder Stuart Lewis has left the club to join Barnet on a free transfer.
