The season is underway and the window
is shut, so this is it until January. With the summer transfer window closing, there are changes among our personnel, which we will have to live with, at least until January. The Beast roared off to Loftus Road The area of the team which surprisingly was not added to was the forward line, with Ade, Harry and Roberto, the lone options in attack. Lamela could play there, but might prefer the play ahead of him rather than playing with his back to goal, so one up top looks the most likely formation, with the midfield supporting them and hopefully chipping in with their fair share of goals. The club had made a little headway with the Government finally enforcing a Compulsory Purchase Order for the remaining one business on Paxton Road, but a challenge to this might hold proceedings up for nearly four years according to some reports. The prospects of a deal with the owner seem remote now, as he is holding out for every penny he can get, so the intended opening of the new stadium could be as late as 2020, with all the lost revenue that goes with that. I don't think it will be put back that far, even if Josif Josif goes through the European Courts, but a prospective new owner might not view the situation favourably. The concerns that our "home" matches might be played at Brighton and Hove Albion, Ipswich Town, Wembley or Milton Keynes are now materialising. Wembley has been joined by Twickenham as a potentially large enough venue but are restricted by the number of sporting events they can hold in a year, plus the FA might charge us a fortune to play there and there could be restrictions on how much of the ground could be used. Brighton and Ipswich might be interested, but the capacities are not great. Arsenal is off the cards for a ground share. Chelsea wouldn't entertain it and I also saw the comment that QPR are not interested. With their ground size, I am not sure that they were going to be asked anyway. Negotiations to use the Olympic Stadium have surprisingly become a topic the Legacy organisation want to discuss now !! Maybe they are having regrets about their favoured candidate for permanent occupancy. . Whatever happens ... you know Tottenham ... it won't be a simple worry-free season. Keep the faith.
