Joe Brough | Joined Vale in 1906, he played 12 games, scoring one goal, until Port Vale lost their league status and then signed for Tottenham who replaced Stoke in Division 2 in July 1908. Played only one game each in the league and FA Cup before going back to the Valiants in 1909. Moved onto Liverpool and Bristol City before going back to Vale Park for a third spell from 1913 to 1922. Played 61 more games for Port Vale and notched five goals before retiring. |

Ernie Coquet | Signed for Spurs in 1908, along with Billy Minter from Reading for a combined cost of £500, full back Coquet served Spurs well, making 77 league appearances, eight in the FA Cup and playing six Southern League games. He scored one goal - a penalty against Burnley in 1909 before leaving Tottenham in August 1911 to go to Vale Park, where he stayed until January 1913, when he joined Fulham. |
