29.09.2010 | After a
goal-less first half, the young Spurs XI turned on the style to run out
4-0 winners over Norwich City at Spurs Lodge in this friendly match. Tim Sherwood was disappointed with his charges' first half performance and read them the riot act at half-time, so the change in approach was not surprising. Oscar Jansson had been required to make a couple of saves in the first half, but Tottenham had efforts on goal with Jose-Paul Mpoku hitting the woodwork and new Brazilian signing Sandro was unlucky when his attempt on goal was cleared off the line. However, five minutes into the second half, Kudus Oyenuga opened the scoring with a simple finish after Harry Kane had taken the ball around the keeper and laid it on for his fellow striker. The lead was doubled as Nathan Byrne was released after some neat inter-play between Kyle Naughton and Mpoku, leaving the winger to take on two defenders in the penalty area before his cross was headed onto the bar, with the rebound being knocked in by Tom Carroll. 15 minutes from the end, Carroll turned provider and Kane got on the end of his pass to slip the ball past the keeper as he faced up to the forward. A 4-0 victory was wrapped up in the 83rd minute, as Jesse Waller-Lassen squeezed the ball home from a tight angle. Teams : |
