          Notable Dates

1914 Tottenham's first meeting with Leicester was an eventful one.  A First round FA Cup tie ended all square at 5-5, which is the highest total of goals in a match between the two clubs and Tottenham's highest scoring draw in the competition.
1918 Les Bennett, inside forward 1939-1955, born.
1920 Jimmy Cantrell hits a hat trick to help Spurs through to the FA Cup second round.
1925 Tottenham's biggest home crowd against Northampton = 32,718
1931 Jimmy Dimmock hits his last Spurs goal.
1946 Bill Adams makes his only Spurs appearance in the full back position.
1953 Biggest away crowd for a trip to Tranmere Rovers = 21,500.
1962 Tottenham's biggest home gate for a visit of Birmingham City = 62,912.
1970 Jimmy Greaves last goal in a Spurs shirt in anger came in this game before his transfer to West Ham United.
1976 This win at Derby County equalled the best away win there.

Don McAllister scores his first Tottenham goal.

1979 Spurs scrape a draw at home to non-League Altrincham with Peter Taylor grabbing the goal to earn a replay.
1981 George Mazzon makes his debut.
1987 A home tie against Scunthorpe should have been easy for Spurs, but it turned out more difficult than they thought and the Third Division side put up a good fight to come back to narrow the score after Spurs had gone ahead.  

This has been Scunthorpe's only visit to White Hart Lane.

1998 Midfielder Nicola Berti makes his debut.
2003 Midfielder Stephen Clemence completes his transfer to Birmingham City.
