02.08.1934 Spurs met Charlton Athletic on the tennis courts in the Professional Football Club's Lawn Tennis Championships winning 5-0 with a team of Allan Taylor, Walter Bellamy, Willie Hall and Jimmy McCormick.  Spurs then beat West Ham 3-2, but lost out in the final to Chelsea 2-3.

Les Allen Came to Spurs in a swap deal with Johnny Brooks.
Jimmy Armstrong -
Alex Anderson Started at Hearts in Scotland, before guesting for Chelsea as a goalkeeper on eight occasions during the Second World War and did so once for Spurs in a Football League South game against Charlton Athletic on 13th January 1945.
Eddie Baily Was at Chelsea as an amateur, but signed for Spurs when it came to turning professional, spending the bulk of his career there.
Eddie Birnie A centre-half, who had played for Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, joined Chelsea in 1906 and played over 100 times in his three year stay with the club.  MOved to Tottenham in 1910, but only played four games.  Another who coached abroad - at Mulheim in Germany, before doing the same role at Sunderland and Rochdale.  Managed Southend United from 1922 to 1934.
Johnny Brooks Signed from Reading, Johnny stayed at Spurs for six years playing 179 games and scoring 51 goals.  Brooks joined Chelsea in 1959 in a swap deal that brought Les Allen to White Hart Lane and scored 15 times in 52 matches with the Blues.
Frank Boulton A war-time goalkeeper who guested for both clubs, Boulton played once for Chelsea in 1941-42 and was in goal for Spurs when Chelsea came to the Lane in October 1944.

Sid Castle Winger Sid Castle played for non-league clubs in Surrey before being spotted by Tottenham in 1919.  Only featured in five games for Spurs and made a 1921 move to Charlton Athletic (making 66 appearances) and then Chelsea in 1923, playing 30 times.  Finished his playing days at Guildford United and then took coaching posts at Ajax, ZAC, PEC and Heerenveen (in two spells) either side of coaching Meppel, all clubs in Holland.

Percy Humphreys An inside right who began his career at QPR, then moved to Notts County before returning to West London with Chelsea in 1909, via Leicester Fossee.  Spent two years at Stamford Bridge playing 45 times, but crossed London to play for Spurs and made exactly the same number of appearances, but with a good goal return of 24 in his time with Tottenham.  Rejoined Leicester Fossee before playing for non-league Hartlepools United.  Went on to manage the North-East club, then coached abroad with Swiss club FC Basel and Allessandria in Italy,
Jakey Jackson Played two wartime games for Spurs in 1944, but the goalkeeper spent some time at Chelsea from 1933 until the war broke out. 
John Kirwan Followed Tottenham bound John Cameron into the Everton side and after one season was playing for him, as Cameron had become manager.  Spent six season (347 appearances, 97 goals) winning the FA Cup and was the first Spurs player capped by Ireland.  Signed by Chelsea in 1905, staying for three season and making half the number of appearances and scoring half the number of goals.  Finished off his career at Clyde and Leyton FC. In September 1910, he took over as the first manager of Ajax, getting them into the Dutch First Division for the first time and also coached at Bohemians (Ireland) and AS Livorno (Italy).

Max Seeburg Signed from Chelsea for £30 in August 1908, he became the first overseas player to play in the Football League.  Stayed only until October when he joined Leyton for £50.
Buchanan Sharp Signed by Chelsea from Clydebank Juniors in 1921, he scored 30 goals in two seasons before moving to Tottenham in 1923.  Only made three appearances for Spurs as he left for Leicester City, then played for Nelson and Southport.
Bobby Smith Signed for £17,000 in December 1955 and played 317 games scoring 208 goals before leaving for Brighton in 1964.
Neil Sullivan -
Sid Tickridge Came through the Spurs Juniors, joining in 1946 before playing 100 games for the club at full back, including one in the 1950-51 First Division Championship-winning "Push and Run" side.  Moved on to Chelsea in the summer of 1951, playing over 60 times for them, before making a similar number of appearances for Brentford, who he signed for in 1955.
Jimmy Townley -
Terry Venables Chelsea midfielder who started his career at Chelsea in 1958, but signed for Spurs in 1966, staying for three years before going off to QPR.  Returned to Spurs as manager from 1987 to 1991, winning the FA Cup in his last year in charge.
Keith Weller -
Harry Wilding A solid centre-half who served his apprenticeship in the game for the Grenadier Guards, from where he joined the Pensioners in 1919.  Made nearly 250 appearances for the West London side, scoring 22 times, but when he came to White Hart Lane in 1928, Harry only played 12 times with a solitary goal scored.  Left to sign for Bristol Rovers, where he played out his career.
