David Pleat, Clive Allen entered the game full of goal-scoring confidence.
The fact that he claimed a shot that took a horrific deflection demonstrated his
voracious appetite for goals this season. Further goals were added by
cousin Paul Allen and two from Steve Hodge to produce a convincing win over a
Watford team that suffered a major drawback before the kick-off, when their
regular keepers were ruled out and Eddie Plumley, the Chief Executive's son was
plucked from a wine bar to play between the sticks. |
